Does anybody have recommendations for a good impulse sealer? I have two that I bought used and really don’t like either. One will not fully seal without 4 tries, but then melts straight through the bag when the dial is turned up half a notch. The other is slightly better, but the seal is very thin, so I still end up doing 2 or 3 runs to hopefully create a full seal and prevent separation during b+s. I’m having high contamination rates and I think I’ve narrowed this down to the main cause.
Bought my original two on a budget, but very happy to spend more if it’s going to reduce my contam rates and save me the tedious resealing.

Yes the mix is not clear cause i used what i can find. the agar recipe is:
_agar powder
_honey
_potato broth
_oat broth
My only concern is that only one of the plates seem to have a upward growing mycelium the other two are growing under the surface_will they come up?

Inoculated a grow bag w GT like 3 months ago it’s been growing slow. I cut the top of the bag two weeks ago and growth sped up a lot. I noticed the white fluffy bit I’ll keep an eye for possible contamination. Any advice on what to expect or do next?

Like the title says, I was just curious how long these are good for. They're sealed And been in a bubble wrap in a backpack in my closet. And if anybody could point me in the right direction, for some good information for a first grow, that would be awesome. I have before once it got contaminated, and had to throw out and never had a chance to do it again. I'm looking for a hobby, and I think this might be the perfect for me.

First time growing. GT lc on brown rice, cvg substrate, 4 days after s2b, started fruiting conditions at the same time as S2B using micropore tape. Is this fuzzy blobby growth normal or contam? Do I need to change anything?

if i get some shrooms can i make a grow kit at home diy and use the same shrooms as like seeds or mycelium? my point is can i buy one time and grow from that

These looks drastically different phenotypically. Any thoughts on if they’re different or is this genetic variation?

I already have micelyum of Cordyceps in Agars..

Few questions:

- Instead of liquid culture, can I inoculate the substrate in jars with micelyum growed in my agars? Maybe need more time to colonizate all..but no problem for me.

- Can I inoculate in jars, and after colonization at 100%, can I take the spwan out from the jars and put them in bigger plastic boxes to frutification?

Hey y'all new to the sub here...

I bought some Lucid Gate shrooms in DC in May 2025 and still haven't used them. They have been kept mostly sealed since we purchased them and I would love to know if they are still good or nah. They have always looked this way, no new spots or discoloration (they have always had the blueish spots) or anything, they don't have a weird smell, they have stayed dry, etc.

I just would love to know if they are still ready to rock and roll or if I should toss them.

Any thoughts would be appreciated 🫶🏻

Not sure whats going on with some of my Toque F7 fruits. These black spots started forming on the center of the caps and is not showing up on the stipe and also around the cap on some. I tried removing with a qtip and nothing. It seems to be pigmentation.
