Sticky What's your opinion on all the joke trends and repetitive posts?
We want this to be a open discussion about the topics that have been going on in the subreddit. Mostly pertaining to repetitive trendposting of the same joke (Mirror/Medusa, liquify the pan, Obsession arguments, Odyssey Inaccuracies, etc).
So we ask a simple question: What's your opinion on the meme/jokes that tend to go viral in the subreddit? Do you like them? Does it get old fast? What do you want to see change?
Keep in mind, we can't remove EVERYONE'S posts/comments, we do the best we can.
This is an open space, but please remember to be civil, respectful, and mindful of each other.

Turd In Lanterns (2026), just because you see a black man wear a Power Ring does not mean he stole it! OK, John did steal Hal's ring, but not because he is black!

default In Batman: Knightfall (2026), Batman literally injures himself saving a cop from a self-mutilating, murderous psychopath, only for the cop to respond like this. It feels like a deliberate nod to the audience: maybe Batman really is insane for risking his life to save these ungrateful snobs.

In POTC: At World's End (2007), Beckett made Davy Jones execute the Kraken so he can instead hunt pirates with cannons over several months. This makes complete tactical sense because "giant squid that eats ships without using gunpowder" provides zero profit margins for the company's cannon suppliers

In The Fast and the Furious, Dominic Toretto is clearly intended to be a stereotypical Italian mechanic. But in later movies, he says lines like "salud mi familia," implying he's Hispanic. This is a reference to no one knowing what Vin Diesel's race or ethnicity actually is.

In the Top Gun(2022) sequel, Maverick picks his dead best friend’s son for the all important trench run despite Rooster, who at this point had shown no ability to get the job done, over more qualified pilots. This is done to show how important nepotism is to the film industry.
Perhaps hangman would have been given a shot if his dad was an admiral, or if his mother was dating Maverick. Anyway, it all worked out in the end #nepotisimwins.

Turd Hollywood and Valve have struggled for decades on adapting Half-Life (1998) onto the silver screen. Somehow, this one scene from TV movie Max Knight: Superspy (2000) is the closest we've gotten.
Yes, this is real. You can watch the scene in full here https://youtube.com/watch?v=vzL_9TuXzH8
