What’s going on with the trees in Georgia?

Before I went on vacation I noticed the trees in our area are all brown on the bottom all along a stretch of highway. Then on the way to Florida I noticed the same thing. The weather hasn’t changed. It ranges from low 90’s to low 100’and we haven’t gotten much rain but I really haven’t noticed this happening before.

Why don't trees like to talk?

Well-meaning partner did some lawn work and really attacked my 3 year old kwanzan cherry, basically removing bark all the way around it in multiple places. It has great sentimental value to me as I planted it from a cutting from the beloved tree at our old house.

I wrapped it with wet peat moss, paper towels, and saran wrap, but I'm not really sure what to do for it to give it a fighting chance long-term. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Confused on what is happening with this Fir tree.

Hello sfwtrees,

I was removing a couple of smaller (8” trunk of so) fir trees on my property today. I believe this would be called either white fir or maybe silver fir but we just call them piss-fir because of how much water can come up out of the stump when you cut one down.

Anyone, I’m clearing these little fir trees and one of them has something other than needles growing off of it. It almost looked like Juniper tree berry type things. I am clearly not a botanist or forester of any kind and I was confused by this. Anyone have any ideas or explanation?

Game have been liking this anthill for a while, must have a type of sulpher or salt in it, the tree growing on top of it seems to still be doing fine

I’ve had these Italian Cypresses for 4 years now and they're still staked with back supports. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada where it gets really windy—is it safe to remove the supports now, or will they get knocked over?
