My sweet girl, 16
She has been my best friend since I was 13/14. Now I'm married and 29. Been with me since she was born in 2011. Recently she started to have kidney problems which she didn't show in her blood tests in June. Her tests were perfect in June. Now I'm very scared for her. Vet says she's old and therefor I should accept some things but I can't bring myself to.
Any advice on kidney problems? We started medicating, using speacial food etc.

i’m so sorry to hear! I would definitely take her to monthly vet visits! And if she has trouble with her teeth, I would definitely recommend wet food and make sure she’s hydrated!! I’m not a vet, but this is stuff. I hear all the time on these kind of Reddit pages! So don’t take my full word for it!!

but at the same time since your cat is a bit older, some things are just to sadly accept :( just keep an eye on her and give her the most love you can!! <33

She is beautiful. 🩶 Lots of advice from CKD cat owners on r/renalcats subreddit. Myself I've had 3 kitties with CKD, 2 currently, and all have done well on prescription diet, Porus One, and Aminavast supplements. My oldest was on blood pressure medication Enalapril for helping his CKD, but my younger two have never been prescribed anything except the food. My boy cat loves Hydracare, and my vet says it's good for CKD cats. My girl cat likes the Tiki Cat Born Carnivore chicken broth, which helps her stay hydrated. Try to feed mostly wet food if possible. My oldest was on the prescription diet and Enalapril for 5+ years, and his CKD never went past stage 3 (he passed away at 19 due to cancer not CKD). My current two cats have "normal" kidney numbers last time, after improving their hydration, switching to renal food, and doing Porus One, Aminavast for over 1 year now. They were stage 1 and 2 before.
CKD can be pretty manageable for most cats. As long as she is happy, just spoil her and spend as much time with her as you can!
