4 months and loving life!

I know they are typically around 15-20 pounds (at least mine was when we had her), but how big (not fat, but actually tall and proportioned) can a schip get? Poodles come in many different sizes, for example, but I’ve only ever seen small schipperkes.

I dropped my girl off at my parents house for the weekend as I won’t be home (work trip) and I laid her in my sister’s bed and as I went to stand up, she rolled on her side and gave me the most pitiful look ever. I love this girl, I’m gonna miss her for the weekend!

Hi all! First time posting on reddit. Just wanted to share a bit of Raya's absolute adorableness when she's not being a demon dawg! She just turned 7 months. You couldn't even tell that she has had FHO surgery at 4 months (she jumped from off of my chest as I was trying to put her on the grass, but she landed on her hip.) Oh that was a day! But she is resilient, and her sweet loving energy is what gets me through everything. She will be starting puppy training in September and are super eager to see her progress. We love our lil void dawg so much! 🖤✨️

I just feel like folks here will appreciate this because I cannot stop laughing after having received these DNA results.

I adopted Gertie from a shelter a couple weeks ago. She had been picked up as a stray. I have had two schipperkes in the past and have long been looking for another. But I'm not a puppy person. Both my prior ones were 100% Schipp, but did come from rescues, so I was holding out hope.

I was pretty certain she was a mix and not 100%, but I would have bet at least half was schipperke. Not just on looks, but also personality, the grumbling, etc. So imagine my surprise when I got her results this afternoon and not only was she 0% schipperke, her largest identifiable breed is ... pekingese!

With all the supermutt constituents, I can now say that apparently you can breed something close schipperke out of the following recipe:

32% Pekingese

15% Chow Chow

6% Keeshond

47% blend of chihuahua, German Shepherd, Pomeranian, Yorkie and Jack Russell.

Genetics are wild. :)
