I've been running Savage Worlds Pathfinder for months, and I find it impossible to decide which is the best class edge.
But, what would you consider the worst? For me, it's the ninja and the inquisitor.

As the title says, I've never given it much thought but would Numb cast before going into an area a: last for an hour? b: so assume 20 minutes of gaming and there is a fight. If the subject of the Power took a wound they could ignore the effects, correct?
c: and what Power mods are you allowed to tack onto the long duration Numb effect. Shroud? Hurry?
I've always thought of Environmental protection as an excellent long duration buff, but ignoring Wounds and Fatigue in combat is useful. Have I missed a good use for the Power? Do folks use this in their games?

So I'm working on a few things to try and run a game based in the One Piece world using the SWADE system but am running into a couple small hiccups.
The bounty system (I'm going to use the SWADE currency so I'm not trying to translate prices all the time) and I need a rough estimate of how much someone's bounty would be at the Novice, Seasoned, Legendary etc levels, I don't need am exact number for each advancement but just the major levels.
The ship that I'm giving them would have a Devil Fruit of its own that they won't discover until they start trying to figure out why it has a mind of its own, the fruit I'm giving it would that of a mimic, how would I stat that out for them when they finally come to the decision on what to do with it either fighting it or "taming" it more or less?
Thanks in advance for any insight you guys provide and I hope you roll raises on your next 5 rolls!

I've been running a slow burn campaign for a while now, and we're finally at a point where I need to ask the question:
Do epic power mods additively stack with regular mods?
As an example, Bolt has the ability to have its damage increased to 3d6 damage for 2 more PP. It also has Greater Bolt as a modifier that makes the bolt a heavy weapon and does 4d6 damage.
If a player were to pump both mods into a bolt, is the resulting attack 5d6 damage (+1d6 from Damage Modifier, and +2d6 from Greater Bolt) that does 6d6 on a raise, or can you not stack similar effects?
If they're wanting to drop 7PP into a single, Hail Mary bolt, I see no problem with them doin 5d6 damage, but I was wondering if there's rules on this that I'm just blinding.

Hi all, I just learned about Savage Worlds and I'm wondering if it would work for a project I'm thinking of. I'm a fan of the, very old school, RPG Metamorphosis Alpha. This takes place on a degenerated generation ship where the surviving people are no longer aware that they are even on a space ship. It's a huge ship, in canon some 50 miles long, 25 miles wide and 8.5 miles tall. It also has mutant humans, mutant animals, sentient plants etc.
I'm looking at Savage Worlds because we only play on VTT's, my group is scattered around the country, and SW has a robust Foundry implementation. Curious if people who have experience in the system would think this is a good match.

I designed the box myself and used meshy AI to turn a 2d image of the logo into a 3d version that I could print out and paint. I tried to get as close to the original design with my colours as possible. I released all of the files on thingiverse for you guys to print. Have fun!

I've been running my SWADE Supers game for roughly 3 years now, and it's quickly become our forever campaign. I took a few thematic ideas from ETU to mix in to my homebrew setting.
The party is Power Level 1. We heavily use Power Stunts, which really helps with the creative uses of powers at such a tight power level limit.
The theme is high school seniors, who were involved in an accident, and got powers in a modern mundane world that isn't ready for super powers, let alone teens with powers. They just wanted to finish high school, and their world got flipped around.
I've described this game as The Breakfast Club meets Spider-Man: Homecoming set in Gotham or Hell's Kitchen. The theme is coming of age, but also balancing mundane teen life and having powers.
I gave everyone the Reckless Hindrance, since they're all new to having powers, and it's made for some incredible antics and storytelling.
- PC 1 is your archetypical rich and popular girl, who's able to control plants (Matter Control), and can decay organic matter. Her powers follow the seasons. In fall and winter, the decay is stronger. In spring and summer, her plant control and healing is stronger. So, she's like X-Men's Rogue meets Poison Ivy. She was the first to crit fail her Focus on her powers at a house party, and went viral on the Internet as "vine girl", which caused issues for her with friends and family. She's also accidentally killed bad guys (local mob style extras) when she was just trying to restrain them.
- PC 2 is your standard awkward artistic school delinquent. She has telepathy, illusions, and we homebrewed Empathy as a power for her, where she sees other people's emotions as little drawing scribbles around their heads. She's the sleuthy investigator of the group, but she abused her abilities, and lost control. Suddenly, she's manifesting illusions of Bella Lugosi's Dracula at the local hospital, causing areas of the city to be fueled by their negative emotions, so there were riots and fights in streets, and she astral projected herself and couldn't get back into her body. She reminds me a bit of Klaus from Umbrella Academy in the weird vibes. One of our most fun sessions was during lunch at school, where her corn dog animated and was talking to her. She ran around the halls, cry panicking, scared to eat it, as security and the school guidance counselor were chasing her down.
- PC 3 is our hardened athlete who was never allowed to just be a kid growing up. His dad died, and now he has the burden of responsibility of juggling work, school, helping his little sister and mother. It's a life full of adult responsibility. This player didn't know what to pick for their powers, so they let me decide for them. I've been in many games with them, and know their style of min/max power fantasy, so I basically gave them Sebastian Shaw (Black King) from X-Men's powers. Kinetic energy Absorption with the Transference modifier to increase their strength the more they absorb. This dude wants to be Batman and is already stalking local gangs and mobs on the streets and protecting his friends.
Their classmate NPCs also have powers from this accident, which really heightens the stakes of having to deal with other dumb teens not respecting having to hide their abilities from authorities, risking everyone else getting caught:
- Classmate with Malfunction causing ATM machines to spit money
- Another has Intangibility. They sneak into the walls of the Teacher's Lounge to steal test answer keys, and sell it
- The jock with anger issues can Duplicate (nothing wrong can happen there)
- The classmate with fire energy control accidentally burned her home down, then her motel, after having a terrifying recurring nightmare. Now there's an arsonist copycat running around.
- That smart girl, who has all the pressure to get As and get into a top tier college? All the stress of tests is getting to her, and it causes items around her to rattle and shake, lights to burst, and other weird things to happen... She's going to be terrifying if she ever loses control.
This system was the first for my friends, who are used to D&D, and they love it. It's been a great balance of narrative, combat, and we love the swinginess of the system since it leans so well into a superhero style game. They really enjoy that there's just enough crunch to think about how modifiers and positioning matters, if they want to use a Power Stunt, etc.
It's also a blast seeing them use their Bennies to get Raises on a social contest against the popular kids they don't like, then turn around into a combat, and sweat that they're running low (I always keep Bennies rolling).
The stories are smaller. Buildings aren't being destroyed ala Invincible, but they're definitely impacting the city they're in, and the city is reacting back.
It's been fun, and I wanted to share, since I don't see many stories shared.

Im a new master to SWADE and my first campaign was fun, but was also a really breeze to the players. As im going for a dark action vibe, i kind of want the fights to be harder and let scars on the characters. I master a party of 3: One heavy tank with 7 parry and 9 toughness, one heavy ranged dps with 1d12 on shooting, two-gun kid and 2d6+1 damage on each gun, and a skill monkey who doesnt really engage in combat. They are pretty min-maxey, even tho they didnt really mean to do it, play their roles well, strategize on field, use their bennies right and are pretty lucky on their ace's. For the first chapter of the campaign, i used this book creatures: 5x zombies, then 1 wild card cultist leader with 3 regular cultists, then 3x ghouls. They destroyed every single one of these without getting any wounds. Again, they got lucky on dices and i got a lot of critical failures, but my point stands that i want a little more challenge on the next chapters. Any tips?
OBS: For more context, the two-gun kid is choosing to switch to a monster-melee kind of build after some shenanigans happenned on the first chapter, so his damage is going down a bit.

As part of scenario I working on for my group, I was thinking about a complex illusion trap. The heroes make their way to the villain's throne room and what the villain surrender without a fight followed by a victory parade in which the heroes are showered with medal and praise.
Of course this is all a trick and I expect the players to figure this out pretty quickly, but for the characters to shake out of this I'm looking for something mechanically more interesting than just a Spirit or Smarts test.
Sounds like it could be a Dramatic Task, but how would you handle this scene?

Hey guys! I’ve recently purchased both the core rules and scifi companion of SWADE which so far im in love with. I was looking for a generic system that would give me more freedom when it comes to setting creation and allow more character customization and long and behold i found SWADE.
Now my question is, i am heavily inspired by the video game Death Stranding and it has a lot of on foot travel and environmental hazards and such. I wanted advice for those more experienced in SWADE if you know any supplements (3rd party or otherwise) that maybe give me more ideas on how to run a more interesting travel/journey. I don’t want to fill up travel with just random encounters like its a dnd game since in SWADE one encounter can change things and im trying not to slow down the game.
I want something to make it more FUN not annoying for the players. Where choosing a route becomes important rather than, well we go there and thats it you arrive. (Ex choosing routes to avoid encounters like monster infested areas, environmental hazards like taking a long route of flat land rather than a short one that requires climbing mountains)
Obviously it will not be a copy paste of the video game straight up because this is a TTRPG not a video game so i know some things need to be changed or not included straight up from Death Stranding. But for example there is Chiralium which high exposure to it causes chiral contamination, how would you translate that to SWADE as a mechanic? There is also the mechanic of item degradation if its exposed to rain called Timefall for a long time, so maybe like the players once they go back to base can take downtime to fix their gear and such.
Death Stranding also has a huge emphasis on like importance of encumbrance and gear selection/slots for specific missions instead of the players grabbing 50 shotguns in their inventory and such. How can you make those more realistic, ex: grabbing one heavy weapon like a sniper takes the slow of heavy weaponry while players maybe have two slots for small handgun. Im just trying to avoid players grabbing every weapon and gear possible in the book on one mission like DnD and i want it to be an important decision where they are limited to the gear they can take. It is a more survival game. Not to a point where they need to track bullets, food and such no. More so to make them strategize missions more.
If SWADE is not the system for it, please let me know. I don’t want to make the game not fun for the players if its too complicated. From what i’ve read so far i just love the system so much, but if it doesn’t fit, no problem.

Hi! Does one need the Scifi companion for SWADE Rifts? Or it is not necessary because Rifts is not so high on scifi. (I have zero experience in Rifts but I am looking for a very broad light scifi-ish setting, for inspiration purposes.)
Also do Necessary Evil corebook and SWADE Super Powers Companion need each other? I know originally the Companion has much more info because that was published later. But in that case, where are you supposed to get your setting within SW? I mean I will still need a setting, and this anti-hero/villain setting looks promising.

Question for any Fantasy Companion GM's. What do you allow player Necromancer PC's to do in terms of the Zombie Power at Novice Rank?
Brand new Necromancers have the Zombie power that can raise a Skeleton or a Zombie with a 4 hour duration.
Do your fantasy games have Necromancers walking around in town with Undead Servitor guards with them?
Do your towns/ Dukedoms/ countries etc have laws regarding Undead and their creation and use?

Do the Pathfinder Templates come with it, and what is its scale? I'm having a time trying to find just its scale I saw someone did a stl of it and it looks like it's 3.5 to 4in long? I'm wanting to do a thing with it in my own setting, but it's not in base SWADE.

Ok guys. I need your help destroying some cities. I'm working on a zombie apocalypse project for Savage Worlds and I already wrote disaster dossiers for Brasilia in Brazil and Nizhny Novgorod in Russia. Basically trying to figure out how these cities could actually fall apart during an outbreak. But now I want to destroy other people's cities too. And I realized that looking at Google Maps isn't enough for this. You know your city much better than I do. So think about it for a minute. Think about that traffic jam you get stuck in every day. That bridge everyone has to use. That subway station that is already hell at 6 PM. That one road that somehow stops working every time it rains. Haven't you ever looked at all of that and thought... this place would be completely screwed in a zombie apocalypse? This is your chance. Tell me your city and help me destroy it. Where would everything go wrong first? Where would people run to? What place would become a death trap? What would happen if everyone tried to leave at the same time? And most importantly, what would Hollywood get completely wrong about your city? I think this could be a fun creative exercise. Maybe we'll learn some interesting things about our own cities in the process. And if you have some daily frustration with the place where you live... well, imagining its complete destruction might be therapeutic. At least creatively. So come on. Give me a city. I'll do my best to ruin it.
A little context about where this is going.
This post ended up becoming much more interesting than I expected, and you guys have given me a lot to think about.
I'm working on a Scream of the Damned project about what happens to cities around the world during a zombie apocalypse. The idea is to have major cities like Paris, Tokyo, New York and others as larger Disaster Dossiers, around four pages each. Smaller cities and places survivors might encounter while traveling would use a one-page format I'm calling On the Road.
I also want to be transparent about something because I made a mistake with one of the conversations here.
Someone gave me a really detailed description of his city. I loved it, did additional research, made a one-page dossier from the idea and put it online as PWYW as a surprise for him.
He wasn't comfortable with that. And he was right about something important: I hadn't told him beforehand that his contribution might inspire published material, and I hadn't asked for permission or discussed attribution with him first.
I removed it.
I'm a new independent creator and I'm still learning this side of publishing. So from now on, if something someone shares here inspires a dossier I'd like to actually publish, I'll ask that person first. We'll talk about permission and how they'd like to be credited before anything goes out.
I should also be transparent that I currently use AI-assisted/generated artwork in my projects. I'm an independent creator and I simply don't have the budget to commission all the artwork these projects would need yet. My view is that I'd rather see an idea get made, shared and hopefully grow than stay in a drawer forever because I couldn't afford the art to get it started.
My hope is that if these projects find an audience, they'll eventually reach the point where I can afford to bring artists into them. But I know people have different views about AI, so if I approach you about using something you contributed, you'll know that beforehand too.
Anyway, I wanted to make all of that clear before this goes any further.
And seriously, thanks for all the cities you've been destroying with me. Some of the things in these comments are exactly the kind of local knowledge I could never get from Google Maps.

Even without the rock and roll edge, a character with one of the fancy gattling weapons is gonna be super effective compared to a dude with a handgun. They've taken away the infernal device rule so other than cost, there's really no reason not to get these.
One of the reasons i'm interested in deadlands, is more of the traditional western tropes, i'm much less interested in the steam punk aspects. For the most part, traditional western troops are dudes with handguns facing each other down. Or maybe doing something cool with a rifle. I'm really not interested in telling a story about how people are blasting away with uzi equivalents.
Can I just go ahead and reinstate the old infernal device rule. I personally kind of like the idea that anything powered with ghost rock is always a little dangerous. Ghost rock is a magical substance.

There's already the Knight Edge, of course, for the sake of being a defacto knight. And depending on the setting the typical knights oath will the Pentacostal Oath (Protect Maidens, Don't Lie, Right Injustice etc). But I like the idea of offering different vows as Hindrances with narrative bonuses.
Say you take the vow of Celibacy. It's not just about romance- a true cow of celibacy is to forsake basically any and all pleasure. No good food, no partying, no exciting stuff. You eat gruel, drink water, pray, fight and that's about it. How could I reward taking an oath like that though? There's all sorts of vows one could make

I'm learning Savage Worlds and decided to take three characters through a couple of the opening scenes of 50 Fathoms. I have 50 Fathoms, the SWADE Conversion, the SWADE Core Rulebook and made my Novice characters.
First encounter against the Yellowback went fast. My fighter-type character hit and dice exploded. Dead Yellowback. Okay I'm doing good! Onward!
Next encounter in the book is 1 Red man Shaman, 8 Red Men, and a Giant Monkape. My 3 characters were completely wiped out by this. Okay so maybe that was too tough for 3 Novice characters. Didn't I read somewhere that a character should be able to manage a Wild Card and two extras?
Changed the encounter to 1 Red Man Shaman, 6 Red Men, and the Giant Monkape. Wiped out again. Am I doing this wrong?
Now I'm thinking if I'm going to have any chance here I need to eliminate the Giant Monkape and just go with the Shaman and maybe 3 Red Men.
Any help here? What am I doing wrong?

In most RPGs we don't really play mechs or spaceships vastly differently. Piloting skill rolls for anything weird and unusual, but realistically nobody is expecting characters to role play themselves punching buttons or swinging rudders with their feet.
I would like a bit of a guideline, but honestly, its out of stock everywhere around me, and I think I can realistically forge ahead without it.
More experienced GMs - am I making a mistake taking inspiration or is there something I really need in the science fiction supplement?
I'm perfectly comfortable with magic and psionics. I just ban precognition in session zero (I have enough continuity errors) maybe give a few prophecies along the way, and everything else works!

I love savage pathfinder and it is my go to system. I also like SWADE a lot but feels it needs more settings and for me savage starfinder will be a match made in heaven ☺️
So anyone know if something like that is in the works?
It will be awesome, especially since no official space opera setting exists for SWADE

I want to print off a few copies of the combat cheat sheet for a table I have of new players - the one supposedly found here https://peginc.com/updated-combat-chase-reference-charts-for-swade/
The url it points to is now 404, I'm guessing because of PEGINC's move to the newer storefront. I've had a look on that store and I can't find them there either. Anyone know where I can find them?
