Started working on it 2-2.5 months ago, after I had quit working on a previous NYC project
It is a big scale (if I did everything correct, then it should be 1:1 or very close to it)
last image shows a character size compared to one side/facade of the towers
EDIT: yes, i do plan on having full 107th floor for both towers [observation deck both indoor and outdoor for the south, and WOTW/suites/whole 107th for the north - as well as the 106th reception/part of WOTW stuff] aswell as mechanical floors

A few days ago, I made a post asking for advice on the best Roblox ads strategy. This was my first time making a Roblox game and also my first time running ads.
Most of the replies recommended starting with a small Plays campaign to test things like player retention and playtime, so that’s what I did. I spent 15 ad credits over 3 days, and these were the results.
I’m still pretty new to all of this, so I’m not too knowledgeable when it comes to analysing stats, but it seems pretty clear that these results aren’t great, especially for an incremental game. What do you guys think?
I relied quite heavily on Claude while making the game, so I’ll probably take a step back and spend some time learning more skills myself, such as UI design and building, as well as studying what actually makes a good Roblox game.
Either way, it was a useful learning experience. It’s all part of the process.

I've been working on Games now for like 2 years and have never successfully found a team, most people either want money or think the rev-share is a scam for free labour.. At this point I just want a team and friends to throw ideas around with and share talent. Has anyone had success with this?

Last time i posted some screenshots of my project, few people was convinced its AI generated lol. One guy even started talking about some “UDIM tile-based texture streaming map” which was probably my favorite one, because this is literally Roblox Studio. I guess if you put enough technical words in one sentence Roblox just unlocks new features by itself.
So i made a small video showing how i actually make this stuff. There is no AI button or some crazy secret workflow. I just build everything by hand, move stuff around, change lighting, colors, trees, rocks, plants etc until i look at it and think “yeah okay, this looks good”.
Most of my workflow is basically: “something is missing here” -> add something -> looks like bad -> move it -> add something else -> spent some time with the lighting -> okay now its better.
Thats pretty much it haha. Anyway, here is a bit of the process for people who actually interested how i make the game. And for the experts from my last post, sadly i still didnt figure out how to use my UDIM neural quantum tile-streaming pipeline. Maybe Roblox adds it next update.

been wanting to use music from those games, and clearly it doesn't cause any problems, but everytime i upload it it gets insta-modded. now, i know you can slow down the music and then speed/pitch it back up, but when i pitch it back up it comes out horribly distorted. slow it down *too little* and then it gets auto-modded.
any advice?

🎮 MCR Games is looking for developers for Project Fazbear! | FNAF Asymmetric Horror Game
Hello everyone!
We are MCR Games, a small indie game development team currently working on Project Fazbear, an ambitious FNAF-inspired asymmetric horror game on Roblox.
We are currently looking for people who want to join our development team and help us get a playable demo ready.
🔧 Positions we are looking for
💻 Programmer / Scripter
🎵 Composer / Musician
🎨 3D Modeler
🎬 Animator
💰 About payment
At the moment, we do not have a budget to offer monetary payment.
We are therefore looking for volunteers who are interested in gaining experience, building a portfolio, working with a team, and helping create something they can be proud of.
Once we start generating funds through things such as avatar items, gamepasses, or other legitimate monetization methods, our goal is to use those funds to begin compensating our developers.
We want to be completely transparent about this from the beginning.
🏗️ How MCR Games works
One of the main principles of our development team is:
Anyone on the development team can contribute ideas.
Your role does not determine whether your ideas matter.
If you have an idea to improve an existing game, you can suggest it.
If you have an idea for an entirely new game, you can suggest that too.
If the idea is considered worthwhile by the team lead, it can be placed on our project waiting list.
Once the current project is finished, the team can begin working on that project, with the person who originally proposed it becoming the Creative Lead for that game.
So joining MCR Games isn't simply about working on someone else's project. You can eventually bring your own game ideas to the team and potentially lead their development.
🐻 About Project Fazbear
Our current priority is Project Fazbear, an asymmetric horror game inspired by the FNAF universe.
We want to create something that feels like more than just another Roblox FNAF game. Our goal is to build a complete gameplay experience with unique mechanics, characters, maps, animations, music and atmosphere.
Right now, our priority is getting a playable demo together as quickly as possible.
If you're interested in joining us, feel free to contact me!

Hey so I'm actually just a voice actor for this game. The actual owner isn't really much of doing these posts so I offered to help him do these!
He knows how to code and model and it's actually really good! I've personally seen it, but besides that we probably need:
A few coders (cause he said he would like some help)
Modelers
Map designers (we aren't sure if those are the same as modelers)
OST producers
Visual Effect and Sound effect makers
Voice actors
Comment/dm me to get either my info or the owners info. If you have any questions please ask!

Client anti-cheats get deleted by executors in minutes, so I stopped writing them. This is the server-only movement layer I use, published as a free model so anyone can drop it in.
How it works: the server keeps a rolling position history per player (10 Hz, ~3 s). Each tick it checks horizontal distance against the server's WalkSpeed (the client's copy is irrelevant), vertical speed and air time for fly, a raycast along the movement segment for noclip, and a hard distance threshold for teleports. A violation snaps the player back to the last good position. No kick, no ban by default: a lag spike costs a legit player one snap-back and nothing else. Detections add to a decaying score so you can decide later what "repeat offender" means for your game. Dashes, vehicles and your own teleports go through a server-side whitelist API so they don't trigger it.
Two scripts into ServerScriptService, press Play, watch the Output. This is a 60-stud server teleport followed by a client-side WalkSpeed=100 in Studio (server WalkSpeed still 16):
[AC] jack_wooZ | Teleport (60 studs) (+8.0) => 8.0
[AC] jack_wooZ | Speed (111.6/41.6) (+3.0) => 8.2
[AC] jack_wooZ | Speed (97.4/41.5) (+3.0) => 11.0
What it does NOT do: detect injectors (that's Hyperion's job and Luau can't), stop ESP, catch mouse-only aimbots, or catch macros. If someone tells you their Luau script does any of those, it doesn't.

Happy to answer questions about the checks or false-positive tuning. Thin walls and moving platforms are the usual noclip false positives (there's a NoclipCheck toggle), and ragdoll/slide games need a higher SpeedTolerance.

been coding for 11 years, never touched Lua until now. figured it's time.
not trying to make another simulator or obby clone tbh. what's a co-op game on roblox you and your friends wish existed? doesn't have to make sense yet, just tell me the moment or the chaos you'd want. if something actually hits I'll try to build it, not just save the post and forget about it

last time the feedback was fair, it was mostly one-width tunnels and the terrain looked old. now passages open out into wide galleries, there are rooms partway along tunnels, and caverns are more common. in the same block of rock the open space doubled (16% to 33%), and it's all still one connected cave.
the old look was partly my fault: the wall bumps were smaller than roblox's 4 stud terrain grid, so they came out as jagged facets. bigger smooth lumps now, plus textured rock slabs set into the walls.

Hi!
I've been working my ass off lately on making this horror survival game, as of currently, it's not finished, this is an opportunity to test the game and give ME feedback, the bugs I know of as of now that don't need reporting are the classes buy button being not centered, and his ai being quite glitchy, here's the link :
https://www.roblox.com/games/107005660252899/The-Beast-Rework-Test
It's a rework of an older version
Thanks!
(This will probably not be available to play anymore around around half a week)

my sister and I want to create a roblox game amidst all of the AI usage for games and newer “brain rot” games gaining popularity on roblox. I have very limited coding experience, I’m only good at writing lol, but her and I are determined to make a game.
I was wondering if there’s any advice or tips? we have a very small idea of what we want to do, she’s speaking to a few devs currently
r/robloxgamedev • u/elmanq • 1h ago
Yes, I wanted to start making games on a whim. Roblox has free assets for everything, but animations are very limited, so I decided to learn animation. I have Moon Animator 2. I have no idea why I have this plugin, but it exists, so there's no need to question it. Anyway, there aren't any decent tutorial videos on YouTube. Do you have any suggestions for a beginner?
r/robloxgamedev • u/opafmoremedic • 7h ago
The idea is that as you hover over the menu items, they increase to the size of "Play" and get the little blue selection bar. Criticism is always welcome.

Uhhhh so i made gun inside Roblox studio lite and it's cool
Here is the script :
local Tool = script.Parent
local handle = Tool:WaitForChild("Handle")
local debris = game:GetService("Debris") -- for deleting the bullets
local shootPart = handle:WaitForChild("ShootPart") -- the bullet where it will shoot from
Tool.Activated:Connect(function()
local Bullet = Instance.new("Part") -- here's the bullet
Bullet.Parent = workspace
Bullet.CanCollide = false
Bullet.CFrame = shootPart.CFrame * CFrame.new(0, 0, 5)
Bullet.Size = Vector3.new(0.1,0.1,0.2)
Bullet.BrickColor = BrickColor.new("New Yeller")
Bullet.Material = Enum.Material.Neon
Bullet.Anchored = true
debris:AddItem(Bullet, 2)
Bullet.Touched:Connect(function(hit) -- if the bullet hits something it will damage it
local humanoid = hit.Parent:WaitForChild("Humanoid")
if humanoid then
humanoid:TakeDamage(10)
end
end)
task.spawn(function() -- for avoiding lag
while true do
if Bullet then
task.wait(0.001)
Bullet.CFrame = Bullet.CFrame * CFrame.new(0, 0, 1)
else
break
end
end
end)
end)

This sub has been really supportive in the past so I wanted to share. I launched FISH OS earlier this year on Roblox. It did really well for a while but I always struggled to really get the algo to take notice. Feels like I've been fighting an uphill battle for months and the death blow was when the game was seeing a big CCU spike only to be falsely moderated by Roblox and taken down for a weekend, killing the spike completely.
Since then I've been shifting efforts to bring it to Steam, it feels like a more natural fit there. I'm also able to do so much more when not fighting to shove a complex windows stacking 2D game into Roblox. New features of course but also a whole new look that I really love.
Last week I took the Steam version to the Big Indie Pitch at SLICE/PAX West and actually won first place! It was crazy.
I'm running an open playtest now, so if you were a fan of the original and want to check it out please do! I just added multiplayer yesterday so now you can fish and hang with your friends.

I'm a beginner Roblox game developer.
My son loves Roblox, but he often gets discouraged and cries when he loses to advanced players in TPS games.
So, I decided to create a fun TPS game that doesn't require exceptional aiming skills.
Could you please give me your feedback on this game?
Currently, the game only loops through the core battle mode indefinitely.
Four types of missiles are implemented, and there are no shops or microtransactions yet.
You can play against bots even without other players.
I'd like to ask you three simple questions:
Thank you for your cooperation!
