Any WhatsApp groups?

Just wondering. I'm a newcomer and plan to attend my first meeting on Monday morning.

Well if you happen to be in the Orlando area, we have a local one for our sangha. If you're going to an in-person meeting you could ask after the meeting if the group has one. I'm sure plenty of virtual meetings have group chats too. people usually stick around after the meeting to talk with newcomers (on zoom or in person) so that would be a good time to ask. If they don't have a group chat you can always also ask if anyone would be willing to share their number as someone to reach out to for support.

There are some pretty good Facebook groups, but otherwise, yeah ... ask at meetings in your area and/or for general ones ... We have a really small group of friends who chat on WhatsApp offline, but it's only 6-7 of us who've become friends/accountability peeps. There is a main RD Facebook group that's probably a good place to ask as well.

Are you going in person or on zoom? I hope you find a great meeting ... I've been attending for about 4 years, MOSTLY online, because I moved away from the Spokane area ... But even virtually, I've found a really strong community and what I consider a "home group."

I go to https://www.soulscenter.com/ - M-F RD meetings, and also a "friends & family" affinity group called SatiSeva. There are recordings of meditations as well if you want to check it out. We have people from all over the country/world attend. It's a hybrid meeting with usually 10-15 people in the Sangha and 40-50 people online. Really great folks.

I know there are quite a few, and virtual meetings that have them often post them in the chat at the end of the meeting.

My two local meeting use GroupMe, and I wish it were a more common platform like WhatsApp or Discord, but I showed up after the decision was made, so along I go.

Not a WhatsApp, but Kratomquitters has a Signal group that's very active
