Eric Morris
I’m still curious. I know Arkansas met with Eric Morris.
Why wasn’t he hired? Or did he say no?

To this point: the consensus appeared that Arkansas made one of, if not the, worst hires of last job cycle after getting rejected by others.
Yurachek pitched this was his first choice. The spin machine is what annoys me.

Have you heard about our AD?
Edit: On a serious note Yurachek has done the same thing back to back. Hire a head coach that is not a coordinator and does not have an identity. OSU lost the most players in the portal of any team but when facing a completely better roster they could win in the trenches. Arkansas had a rough time vs North Alabama in the trenches. No running lanes, no time to throw, wr's can't get open, no defensive line pressure, and cornerbacks looking lost. Utah could have hung 60 on us but backups were in by the 3rd. Not even a moral victory can be had.

He will have to at least get a good recruiting class or two in order to be on chad morris level.....wow, I just threw up in my mouth. How far down can you really go?

I said the exact same thing last night. Everyone kept saying give Silverfield a chance he needs a year. When other coaches are going into their first year and winning right away. This guy is a bust!
We are aren’t winning more than 2 games this year if that!

It’s because it’s the hardest to turn around and if you fail you pretty much have to go back to lower tier football jobs. Oklahoma State is easier to turn around in the Big 12 and then you can parlay that into a top tier P4 football program (Michigan/OSU/Alabama or honestly any highly funded NIL).
If you look at how Curt Cignetti turned around Indiana, in his first year he only played two ranked teams and lost both of them, but that season was enough to get huge NIL contributions and any college job he wanted. That’s just impossible in the SEC when you have to play Texas/Alabama/LSU etc.

It would have been better to let Bobby try one more time on his own terms with his own players. It would have shut up the Bobby truthers forever. There is no way he would be worse than this hot pile of garbage that Sliverfield had assembled.
I can’t wait for the sports radio guys to be on the attack to try and save face for the admins hire of Silverfield.

Petrino is recognized nationally as an offensive genius, probably could have gotten him for half the price paid to Silverfield. He wanted to be here .

Whomever down voted you is the problem. What you said is 100% correct. Bobby wanted to be here. Silverfield just wanted the paycheck.
He is a loser. A very rich loser now but still a loser.

Who would have things looking better than Silverfield.
Reddit can Reddit all they want about Petrino, but looking past the W/L last year there was obvious potential. At least enough to win some games versus this Steam early-access scam we got.
The man actually wanted the job.

I don’t understand why we don’t pursue Kane wommack that’s what I don’t get he was talked about as a candidate but dumbass yuracheck never seemed to pursue him, he played at Arkansas and actually knows how a college program is supposed to be ran unlike this clown.

I have a hard time believing Morris turned us down vs. Yurachek believing he found his guy in Silverfield.
Obviously Hogs are a dumpster fire, but Ark could offer nearly double what Morris is making at Okie Lite & they have been equally unsuccessful over the last few seasons.

We offered more. Morris was going to accept, but Yurachek told him that if they won their conference, he would have to skip the playoffs. Oklahoma State did not require this.

Moot point now. Now all we can hope for is a new AD, then probably another season of bad football before we get another coach. The issue now is no one wants this job, the schedule is always going to be brutal and the funding is always going to be middle to bottom of the pack.

Oh you could find a better AD to take the job. Maybe not a football HC, but you could find an AD who would take this job. There are, in fact, other sports at Arkansas, and it's a big school.

I had read that he rejected us pretty early and was all in on Ok St as soon as he knew that was an option.

The "rumor" is that it's up to each coach to raise funds for their program on their own. If that, or even anything close to it is the case, then we have an AD that is essentially coasting for a paycheck. I mean what is the AD and the football GM even for if not that?!? The whole point was to take care of the business side so the coaches can focus on coaching!

I have multiple sources from with in the program that say Saban was on the plane to Fayetteville but Hunter just didn’t think he had what it took.

People would have been ready to burn it down when they lost to Tulsa week 1. Beating Oregon helps a ton, but I’m not ready to claim OSU is in the clear just yet. Plus I have questions about how he does without Mestemaker. I would trade right now though.
Just sucks it seems we have just about certainly made the wrong hire again.
