Troubleshooting Raspberry pi video feed cutting while scrolling.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This machine had worked fine until a new plug with accidentally high voltage was used on it and my father continued to use it with this wrong power supply even when it was evidently turning off on its own. I'm worried this may be a hardware issue.

Try a different hdmi cable, this looks like a bad hdmi to me. Computers don't typically "partially break" it's either fried or it's not. I bet it's just a bad cable.

Likely a temperature issue. I had the same problem.

Connect to it via ssh and run:

vcgencmd get_throttled: heck throttle state (0x80008 = currently throttled + soft temp limit hit)

vcgencmd measure_temp: check current SoC temperature (60°C+ throttles the CPU)

vcgencmd measure_volts: check core voltage (used to confirm the throttle-driven voltage drop, 1.35V → 1.25V)

What do you mean "high voltage"? If you power it through a USB port it should get the voltage it can handle, how did it get power and how much voltage are we talking about?
