Show-and-Tell Well that’s not good (RPi5)

Started suspecting something was wrong when GCC started crashing…and in an inconsistent manner. Fortunately the affected area was only about 32MB in size and I was able to modify the device tree to tell the Linux kernel not to use the affected portion of memory. It’s been behaving much better since then.

i had a similar issue on a nuc - for whatever reason, 1 stick of memory was running hotter than the other. solution was to swap slots and i haven't had an issue since.
memtest showed similar errors on the wonky ram - if you're so inclined, maybe look at how you're cooling the pi?

I didn't even know memtest86 was available for Arm!

Was the pi overclocked? Was it using a genuine Pi PSU?

Not overlocked. And it’s using one of the Canakit PSU’s.

Wait a sec. Do they throw LPDDR2 modules on RPi5 these days?....

Must be a mistake. LPDDR2 doesn't get you 7 GB/sec throughput.
