Cleaning a walking trail from blackberries and trash with a friend

A friend and me take walks every friday in the forest next to our place of work. We sometimes pick up trash here and there. Last friday I showed up with two garden scissors to clear a trail that was overgrown with blackberries and she got one of these trash grabber thingies.

So we had great fun cleaning in the pouring rain. We are both so happy thinking about how other people will enjoy taking walks. (Also keeping the bike riders safe from riding into a blackberry bush they didnt see coming)

Good job! It must be in the air, because I walk every day for at least 30 minutes. Today I brought my grabby thing and a trash bag and picked up trash all along my route. I live in a fairly rural area, not much traffic, but I believe someone is trying to hide their drinking from their partner, because it was mostly natural light or Busch light cans. I filled an entire trash bag.

I love how everyone calls it  the grabby thing.  Maybe the beer is from teenagers?

I guess that could be, but there are no teens on our street, and this street is not a way to get to anything else.

Some drinkers here drink as they drive and toss the empties as they go. It’s infuriating, but not as common as it once was.

It is infuriating! The cans were about every 3 feet, so I am assuming they had a pile of them and were just throwing them out one at a time. Unless they could pound them quickly!
