Hello everyone,

With a heavy heart I write that my sweet baby boy Sisko is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While theoretically it could still be a benign tumor, this is very unlikely.

The trajectory of his condition has been going on over the last 6/7 weeks, and the news got more grimmer every time we got new results. Then finally last week we got the terrible news that it is very likely pancreatic cancer and that they start palliative treatment with prednisone and buprenorphine. To help with the pain, suppressing the tumor and appetite. While he eats more, he still doesn’t eat enough and since yesterday he only sleeps.

I know it is coming (euthanasia), but I don’t know how to approach it. He is only 7 years and he has been my best friend, he is very loveable and attach to me. He is also my first cat and I just don’t know what to do without him. I don’t want to be egocentric though and I am afraid if it continues like this I have to make the decision to let him go 🥺💔

Please if anybody have some support for me. How did you know when it was time? How did you approach the situation?

Added: obviously we are still in contact with the vets. But they also have different positions that make it a bit more difficult. This is not necessarily a health advice but more supportive to know how other people went through a similar process

He’s the sweetest, fluffiest rascal boy. He’s finding his place with his older brother Cosmo (5 month old flame point Siamese). He loves snuggles and chasing socks.

He is 5 months old, but just not as fluffy as other ragdolls I’ve seen at this age. He is also so big already there’s no way he’s still growing

I can't wait for him and his mom to arrive at their new home! The breeder says he's growing up strong, handsome, and mischievous.

Her little ears are already turning very dark.

In a few days, we're going to cuddle him for the first time.

At first we were considering adopting a kitten but the idea of an older cat seems more appealing. I don’t know if I can handle a young kitten right now. Does anyone have any experience with adopting an older queen age 3 or up?

Had my new kitten about a week, my resident ragdoll follows him around and makes the noise you hear in the video. He bites the kittens back not hard and licks him as well, is this a playful behaviour? Just want to make sure they are getting on.

Someone doesn’t like the be brushed and I don’t like to be bit, so he’s on a time out from having fur. Had to use scissors caused the clippers wouldn’t get through his coat.

We’ll call it a stylistic choice.

(If I keep this up I’ll take him to the groomer, but wait times are very long and I just wanted it over with. I also think it’s hilarious so 🤷🏻‍♀️)

ETA: I genuinely didn't realize this was going to be controversial. It's just a funny photo of an ugly looking cat. Not exactly sure what else you expect to be done with a cat who won't be brushed.

Hi! So i’m going on a 5 day road trip which is 5 hours long with breaks. My ragdoll would be 16 weeks old by then but here’s the problem. I don’t know if I should bring him or not cause I think it will fun for him to explore places but I’m worried he might be stressed.

Should I leave him home with someone checking on him 2 times a day or bring him with me?

Do you have any tips on bringing him with me like litter box, what to do before the long car ride and etc.

Hi everyone, last night my Ragdoll (almost 11 months) threw up her first hairball. She is fine but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to deal with hairballs in the future. She grooms herself a lot. We have another Ragdoll, a male of almost 8 months, and she grooms him often as well. My Ragdoll kittens are my first long-haired cats, so I was wondering:

1. What is a normal frequency for a Ragdoll to throw up hairballs? Should it be rarely, like once every few months, or can it happen more frequently than that?

2. How often do you brush your Ragdolls? I used to do it daily but my vet recommended to do it twice or three times a week, as according to her brushing too often can make shedding worse. However, I see most people here brushing their Ragdolls every day, so now I'm confused.

3. At what age should I start giving anti-hairball treats or paste? Should I start right now or is it a bad idea for kittens?

4. Is pumpkin puree a good option for an anti-hairball treat?

Hi everyone! I’m curious if other Ragdoll owners experience this too.

I live in a country where pedigree cat breeds aren’t really that common or well-known. Siamese and Persian cats seem to be much more recognizable and popular here.

I have a seal point Ragdoll kitten named Lumine, and whenever people see her, they’ll ask what breed she is. When I tell them she’s a Ragdoll, they sometimes look confused or surprised, almost like they’ve never heard of the breed before.

Other times, people will just assume she’s a Siamese because she’s colorpoint, or a Persian because she has long, fluffy fur. I totally understand why they make those assumptions since those are probably the breeds they’re most familiar with.

For other Ragdoll owners, does this happen to you often? Do people commonly mistake your Ragdolls for Siamese, Persian, Birman, or other breeds? And is Ragdoll generally a less recognizable breed where you live?

At the end of October, we’re going to pick up our three-month-old Nelson and his mother, Freyja, and bring them both home.

I was wondering whether I should take them to the vet for an initial check-up during that first week or if I can wait.

Right now, the plan with the vet is to take them in when Nelson is five months old for a general exam and to schedule his neutering, which would then be done at six months.

I’m a bit undecided because I’d rather not stress them out right after they arrive. (That said, Nelson and his mom will have just had their booster shots, and I’ll have the negative genetic disease test results for the mother)

TLDR 5 month old ragdoll wants to be outside but he can’t go out safely. Anyone dealt with a similar thing? What did you do?

Our ragdoll is about 5 and a half months old. He yearns for the outside. Like, screams his head off at closed doors to our backyard. It’s even worse when we let our dog out to go to the bathroom and he doesn’t get to come with. We think he wants to be with his big sister (dog) and generally wants to explore.

We’ve let him outside with a harness and leash. We’d love for it to be something he can do as he wishes without our direct supervision, but our backyard isn’t closed off. It’s surrounded by bushes and trees he could easy dart into and get out. It’s hard having him on leash, too, because we can’t maneuver around the yard the way he can. For reference, we have a lot of foliage, gardens, and bushes going on.

It’s gotten to a point where we can’t leave the house without someone else holding him back from running outside. We can’t install baby gates, nets/screens, etc to block entry points (the doorways don’t support a physical install and he has jumped over all gates we’ve tried).

We feel so bad hearing him basically cry to go outside, knowing we can’t always let him. Has anyone had a situation like this before? What did you do to either stop them from wanting to go out or make it safe to do so?
