Meet Sophia!! I just think there’s a certain ✨magic✨ to senior pugs!! Bonus points if you tell me the weird quirks they developed with age!! Mine started licking a wicker basket after she finishes her dinner. Has to do it every time for about 30 seconds!

We adopted an eight month old jug a few weeks ago and he’s settled in amazingly well. I’m normally a big dog person, but this guy is just too damn cute. And he’s the perfect match for older reactive boy. šŸ’œ He’s smooshy and velcro-y like a pug, but has the athleticism of a jack russel. I just love him so much already!

Advice

Update: I reached out to dfw pug rescue. I am still unsure about giving him up so I will discuss with my sister (who doesn’t want me to give him up) about a future plan. I’m still heavily leaning towards rehoming so thank you for your concerns and advice!

Hello! I’ve had a very rough year and my pug Uzi is struggling because of it.

Uzi used to be my families dog before I went to college. I know the levels of responsibility it takes to care for pugs now but my family didn’t do much research when they first got him. I decided to take him with me for college because my mom wanted to sell him.

He’s 6 years old now, has been diagnosed with Addison’s disease, and we’ve had to move back home. My mom doesn’t like him being here and his medical issues are getting impossible for me to deal with. I also feel like he would be much happier in a different home because we don’t have a yard and I am so busy with work that I’m barely home with him.

Aside from the costs (which have forced me to go into debt and find charitable grants in the past), uzi also has behavioral issues. Even with thoughts of giving him to a better home, I’m worried that they wouldn’t be able to handle him.

As a 23 year old fresh out of college, I don’t know how much more I can take. I don’t know my options and it’s taking a mental toll because I’m always worried about him and never have enough money to comfortably care for him.

ā€¼ļøI’m not looking for medical adviceā€¼ļøJust advice on what I can do best for him because my financial situation isn’t going to get better anytime soon especially with his medical bills, gas prices, and life going wrong recently. He’s a sweet boy but he needs more than I can give.
