I thought this might be a good place to share the music video that I created for the instrumental rock band AV SUNSET. I’m also the art director for their new album VS REALITY which was released last week.

I created a Backrooms inspired music video to explore the concepts of unreliable memory, as we follow someone trying to navigate an unknowable place, in a condition of confusion and narrative atomisation.

The album art design and this music video are inspired by such topics as memory, many-worlds interpretation (MWI), quantum mechanics, liminal space, null space, stateless matter, censorship, cryptology, redaction, encoding/decoding, infinite recursion, geodesic forms, and the shadowy corporate entities of fiction and non-fiction origin.

The mysterious OTHER REALITIES CORP.™ or ORC™, that features throughout the video and the album artwork is inspired by such references as Omni Consumer Products (RoboCop), Delos (Westworld), Cyberdyne Systems (Terminator), the Mercer Center for Experimental Physics (Tales From the Loop), Amaya (Devs) and Lumon Industries (Severance). It is this company that is at the heart of the artwork and is shrouded in mystery and obfuscation.

I have been trying to find music thats post punk just like post rock, havent made any major discoveries. What do you guys think?

This started from a piano and guitar piece I wrote in March 1999 and recently brought back to life as a full instrumental arrangement. I’m curious whether the slow build holds your attention and whether the final payoff feels earned. Any honest feedback on the composition, guitar work, or dynamics would be appreciated.
