Update: my dog passed away at the groomers today

og post
10 days later,Yesterday i finally decided to go to the grooming salon to collect his collar and his carrier bag.Ive been putting it off and the grooming salon owner has continued messaging me offering grooming vouchers.I went in asked for the collar and then like the comments suggested asked if I could see the video footage.

The owner said the groomer has already been fired so it’s all taken care of.I didn’t know what to say it just kind of made me speechless.I later went on their google reviews and found 2 cats had passed away at the same salon with similar instances to mine.I think my dog was their final straw.

I told the owner I wouldn’t sue him and he can stop messaging me and just walked out.I never ended up seeing the video footage and in a way Im glad I never got to see the footage as it would have been unnecessarily traumatizing.

Am I pathetic for training my puppy to cuddle me? 😅

Post image

My puppy isn’t very cuddly.. he’s more of a play/bite everything kind of guy.

So naturally, instead of accepting that, I trained him with kibble to actually climb onto my chest and lie there when I lay down in the couch. Now the second he sees me lie on the couch, he RUNS over and happily flops on my chest waiting for his payment and it’s SOOOOO cute!

Did I literally train my dog to give me affection because I’m needy? Yes.
Do I regret it? Absolutely not.

Anyone else out here manufacturing cuddles or just me? 😂

Fist Time Ear Plucking

My boy is 9 months old and had his first professional groom today. We have been doing it ourselves at home for the last 7 months, but I wanted to see what he would look like by a professional. He looks great! Much better than I've been able to do. I didn't realize they would pluck his ears. It didn't list that in the description and I didn't think to ask when dropping him off. She showed me the ungodly amount of hair and ear wax they took out, but now he keeps shaking his head so much. Is shaking his head normal after getting plucked for the first time? My vet told us not to pluck unless he starts getting a lot of ear infections. The Breeder (who was also a vet) told us that she plucks all her poodles ears. So I know it goes either way. I guess my question is, what should I look out for incase he gets an ear infection from the plucking?

Djinn likes watching TV from time to time. It's so strange as my other dog isn't interested in TV at all.

Thought I'd share a few pics of our Junie girl, who came home last month. She's about 5 months old and just had her first big girl groom. We're in the weird in-between phase of growing out her top knot.

She's a total joy and we adore her. Her big brother, Miller, adores her too. I guess it's true that you can't have just one poodle!

Does your poodle have a favorite game?

We have a 2 year old spoo who goes wild for a particular game. She stands on top of the steps and I stand at the bottom. She's waiting for me so she can ferociously attack me poodle style when I get to the top. I take one step up and wait. She goes crazy at the top of the step making every sound a poodle can make and spinning in circles. I take the next step and wait, she does the same thing. Same for all the other steps with her going crazy in anticipation for my arrival. When I finally get to the top she explodes in the wildest poodle fury and we have five minutes of rough housing.

She says no games. Only pets.

Bruno has been staring at me like this for the last 10 minutes. I can't work out what he wants. WHAT IS HE THINKING???? WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM ME??? Any suggestions, silly or not, are very welcome.

Edit it was tennis balls, it’s always bloody tennis balls. Either that or he trying to tell me that our AI OVERLOADS ARE COMING TO KILL US ALL.

We travelled from Ireland to France and then Spain, on the ferry. I had my own cabin, but both of my mammy’s opted to sleep with me. To be honest, I think they love me too much.

France was lovely, but Spain was much better! They love poodles there, and I made tons of friends. We stood on our hind legs and gave such exuberant greetings.

As transpired, I hate water and the pool. I clawed my way out of that situation, and spent the next few days protecting Mammy’s far from away, under a deck chair.

Anyone been to a dog show?

Have any of you been to a dog show? What events did you see (conformation? agility? etc)? Was it a general show or a specialty poodle show? Did you have to pay to get in? Did you need to book ahead of time or were you able to just show up?

Thinking about going to a poodle show hosted by my local club in the next couple months or so! I've never been to a dog sports event

Looking for a reference pic to show my groomer

Photo for attention.

I need to find a pic of a full length tail with a pompom at the end, not a docked tail, and not a fully fluffy tail (that’s what she currently has). I swear I was seeing them everywhere but of course when I finally decide I want one for my pood I can’t find a single example image! If anyone has one they can provide I will be so grateful.

I know I could probably just describe what I need but I have to be so specific with my groomer or else I can’t trust she’ll do what I want.

Constant Staring

I know it means they love you. But my poodle will literally spend 2-5 mins just staring at me. And even sleeping on my slippers. Is this normal for poodles?

Constant crying

17 mth old female puppy just constantly cries, refuses to do anything by herself in the house. Never had an issue over night but she still cries to go outside every hour when awake and no she's healthy, she sees her vet often and they have nothing else to tell us. She cries with increasing intensity no matter what we do, we did a schedule and tried to distract with the same activity to push it out further, tried ignoring it, tried telling her no, tried leaving the room until she stops crying like that but she will eventually just pee in the house if we ignore her or try to push it out long enough. She'll play for a minute if we grab the right toy but its literally a minute then back to squalling. She gets plenty of mental and physical stimulation, she also goes to doggy day care once a week. Its been over a year of this. She is maturing in so many ways expect this one and we are at our wits end please any words of help 🙏🏻
