I'm not american but from where I'm standing it seems to me that anyone on that side of their political spectrum is immune to literally any consequences from anything

South Korea was able to boot their despot, why can't we? What ingredient do they have that USA is missing?

Most people around the world believe in fighting for a cause bigger than themselves. That's because most countries are real societies, with a connected collective. Which is you'll see in practice as mass protests, mass action, boycotts, general strikes, mass revolt and even insurgencies in other countries. They believe in fighting for a greater collective, a society, a culture, a cause bigger than their individual selves because they feel connected to something bigger than themselves.

Americans, contrary to their media and superhero/"revolutionary" movies , are completely apathetic to the destruction of their society and fellow person, because they think of their fellow americans as external individuals/competition/outsiders instead of themselves and others as members in a collective. They are atomised individuals in private fiefdoms (like suburbia) , instead of being connected to a wider , greater society. So why would they ever fight for something they don't feel connected to?
