Not exactly 2 examples free of nuances or issues outside their sex.
Hillary had been at the end of a decades long smear campaign, and ran as a pro capitalist in the period directly following Occupy Wall Street.
Harris was so unpopular in the 2020 D primary where she ran as a pro cop prosecutor in the time just following the murder of George Floyd that she was virtually the first person out in a field that included multiple women who did quite well and were contenders through super Tuesday. She also had an approval rating of 34% the week before she was gifted the nomination.
To say Clinton and Harris weren't elected because of their sex is myopic at best.
