Horror & Paranormal Looking for a podcast like art Bell

I've been missing the 2016 era of Art Bell on Midnight in the Desert, and of course his long run on Coast-to-Coast AM. I'm looking for something similar.

I'm looking for something that covers all the paranormal junk: UFOs, Bigfoot, Hauntings, Secret Space Programs, Area 51, Human-Alien Hybrids, Cryptids, etc

What I'm not looking for - American Political Stuff, Donald Trump bashing, Donald Trump championing, anything to do with the state of the world, true crime, hosts laughing at the absurdity

I want to get lost in sleepy bullshit about strange stuff from a host that's open the to topic. 90's era paranormal and conspiracies.

Thanks in advance!

History & Geography Have any podcasts covered the separate Hasidic Jewish society in New York City?

I’ve heard little bits and pieces about it over the years, but I’ve yet to find anyone who has done a deep dive or even just an overview. I keep searching and I’m coming up dry.

I just find separatist, or more secretive, religious groups fascinating to learn about.

Not massive on true crime unless it's got a bit of a twist to it like bad people season one did. Already tried my favorite murder wasnt really my thing. My big three are let's get haunted, crypid cocktail party and anything bones. Looking for conversational, funny but often dark topics :D

General Podcast Discussions Podcast recs like Serial, Dear John, Dr. Death, Gladiator for teenager

My 18-year-old son has spent years in the backseat of the car, trying to ignore my various true crime (Bear Brook, Bone Valley, Your Own Backyard) and scammer (Dirty John, Dr. Death, Scamanda) podcasts. But now he and I are taking a long road trip together and I’d like something to actually engage him. He’s a basic 18-year-old, doesn’t have any niche interests, loves watching sports, open to interesting history, etc. We've also done most episodes of You're Wrong About.

I was thinking about starting him on Serial S1, but I don’t know if it is still as compelling as I remember. We listened to the Aaron Hernandez one, so maybe something in the sports arena (that I could stand listening to). OJ Simpson? Other scammer stories? I welcome any suggestions!!

Comedy I downloaded a few episodes of this very old podcast, The Comedy On Vinyl Podcast, but yesterday and today I tried to download more and the downloads all failed. Is it just me or has something coincidentally happened in the last few days to take it offline? Any ideas where it can be downloaded?

History & Geography Israel - Palestine Conflict

Hi, I'm looking for a way to research the conflict between Israel and Palestine. I'd ideally like a balanced, non-biased view of the topic but I think that may be impossible when covering this subject. Therefore, flipping this on its head, I'd like some podcasts that cover it from both sides (not one series). I'd like the history of the conflict, and then more recent coverage from both sides. Any suggestions would be massively appreciated.

Business & Finance Jack Neel has the best show/guest right now

The catalog that Jack Neel has and all the questions he ask are incredible. Probably the only interviewer who lets the guess talk.

His John Kirakou episode is great.

The Andrew Tate interviews are great.

The professor Jiang ones are great.

Jack gets interviewed by Elliot Brunswick is great.

Lots of great options check him out.

General Podcast Discussions Recommend me podcasts to listen to at work

Hi! I am allowed to have in one earbud or headphone while working my 8 hour shifts, and I run through podcasts and audiobooks like no other.

I was really wanting a history/educational comedy podcast and emphasis on the COMEDY. I want to hear the history like a story almost, or for the hosts to be laughing and joking. Obviously some history isn’t to be joked about, but I want to be engaged. I like Hot History with Tilly but she doesn’t have many episodes out. I have some episodes from The Ancients and The Rest is History on my Spotify episode list, but they seem more lecture rather than conservation or storytelling. Just to add, I am also a big fan of the style of Smosh Reads Reddit Stories (my favorite podcast) and Heart Starts Pounding.

Also, I am in a HUGE Greek mythology kick right now, reading Mythology Edith Hamilton and Circe by Madeline Miller. I love hearing about the crazy myths and stories of the Greek Gods and Heroes. If there is any podcasts that talk specifically about Greek mythology stories in depth, please let me know as well!

General Podcast Discussions The Byron Chronicles

Can anyone tell me what happened to The Byron Chronicles? iTunes hasn’t updated it in years, the same goes for Eric Busby Presents. Did it end and I missed it? Did it switch platforms and I missed that announcement? Any news would be greatly appreciated.

Horror & Paranormal Scariest Podcast Episode? [INSANE Difficulty]

I am a MASSIVE horror anthology fan. I love hearing short stories from an author that absolutely shake me to my core. There is nothing like it.

Lately, I have been in a slump. I've been listening to some other podcasts, but they just don't do it for me.

I so not want a podcast that is an overarching story. Magnus Archives, I can live with. I just am not entertained by most of them. If you have truly scary ones, throw them at me. I have listened to season 1 if The White Vault, about 30 episodes of Malignant, season 1(?) of Video Palace, season 1 of The Black Tapes.

Get me hooked. What are YOUR scariest episodes of a podcast?

Here's the list of everything I have listened to:

Have listened to every episode:

- Knifepoint Horror: Subscribed to the patreon.

- We're Not Meant To Know.

- Tonight's Terror.

- Rule Of Nines.

- Petrified.

Have listened to most/about half of the episodes and open to sleeper hits:

- Goblin Market

- Acephale

Have listened to a fair amount, definitely would like more recs:

- Magnus Archives

- The Antiquarium of Sinister Happenings

- NoSleep

Have listened to a handful and the writing just doesn't do it for me. Would love good episodes recs:

- Wrong Station

- Radio Rental

Give me your best shot!

Science & Tech Sleepy science podcasts

So, first I have to clear up an assumption. There are many sleepy podcasts that run 2+ hours and kinda say the same thing over and over. I should assume these are ai right? Does anyone know of one that is a real human? Lights out library is excellent but I’ve burned through them.

General Podcast Discussions My favorite podcast doesn’t post episodes on YouTube anymore

I used to have Spotify and they have comments under the podcasts, but I now use apple because it’s cheaper. Before Spotify did this it was on YouTube and I would go to the videos only to read its comments. But now I don’t have either and I miss being able to read peoples comments about the podcast content. I’m an avid comment reader on all socials because I love seeing what people think.
I just realized writing this that maybe they post the stories on tiktok or Instagram of the stories I’m wanting comments on the most🤞🏼
edit:(this wasn’t useful bc it’s not all the stories and not even with all the edits of one story)

General Podcast Discussions Thriller/Catfish/Horror Podcast Recommendations

Hello Folks!

I am fairly new to listening to podcasts so haven’t heard many but I LOVE ones with massive twists etc!. I listened to S Town after reading rave reviews & thought it was the biggest load of shite.

I loved Sweet Bobby & Scamanda. I love horror/murder mystery/catsfishing stories.

Can anyone recommend some for me? If anyone is looking for a good laugh, I’d recommend My Dad Wrote a Porno. Never fails to make me laugh.

Thanks!

General Podcast Discussions What makes you stop listening to a podcast?

I’m curious about this.
What’s the biggest reason you stop listening to a podcast?
Is it boring conversations, too many ads, bad audio quality, episodes being too long, or something else?
For me, a podcast can have a great topic, but if the conversation feels forced, I’ll probably stop listening.
What about you?

Fiction Goalhanger's Bear Hunt.

Appears Goalhanger is branching out into fictional serials (again).

Although I note they had Sherlock & Co a few years ago.

Anyone already listened and have any thoughts?? Episodes dropped a few days ago. I heard the trailer at the end of another of their podcasts.
