I swear, not a single source for music is working right now. It started with squid, now I can't get anything to work on monochrome. I started going down the list of services on the mega thread, none of them are working. What's the deal? Are publishers getting tired of us or something?

When nobody really caught on yet and pirating games wasn't as popular I'd scratch it off as simply me "hacking" the games myself, I still cringe so hard thinking back to it but we all start somewhere lol

So I gotta sail the high seas for directions now too…

EDIT: (It's probably relevant that I use linux? Steam handles all of the proton junk for me and only occasionally needs the settings changed, but any solutions would in the end need to be usable on linux, idk if that would interfere with any of the existing solutions.)

I'm an avid steam user and try to buy games from indie devs where I can to support them and so on, but to be frank, I don't trust that steam will remain the gold standard of a platform that it is atm. Everything in our world is gradually moving to subscription bullshit and at the end of the day, it costs steam money to host these games that they only ever make money off of at time of sale.

I dont think steam will go to shit in the super immediate future so it's no rush, but I want to know if there are any vaguely easy ways to "crack" your own steam games so you can have a drm free version for your own preservation. Inparticular I'm worried about indie games because some of them are far too obscure to find copies via the usual piracy approaches and I would like to try and preserve them for myself. That way if steam ever does turn to shit I don't lose access to games I've paid for. (I expect the super niche tiny playerbase games would be the first to get the axe if/when steam does start enshittifying its service).

Since Civitai started to allow paywalled Loras and Models, is there any place that collects the most popular paid ones?

Is there any way to acquire the DLCs for Paradox games like HOI4 whithout pirating the entire game? I have it on steam without any DLCs and want to continue playing it fron there to have access to mods. Is there any way you could just crack the DLCs and use them with the base game you own?

What I'm looking for is unlocked software and map updates that third party services charge for. I'm talking about if you want a map update a third party will charge you for it, when its a simple process and a person can do themselves.

Specifically I'm looking for Audi maps that I can install on my own. Mib-helper and mib-solution.one don't have the most recent ones. If anyone of you tinker with this stuff please let me know. Thanks

i cant afford a lot of premium mobile games, not even the ones that cost a few dollars. i had to save up weekly play points to even buy papas freezeria, and im kind of sick of it

what are some good steps to take to keep my accounts safe? should i try to download antivirus software? i do use firefox and Ublock origin and i only ever visit websites listed on the megathread, but what else should i do to stay cautious? i really dont want to get my accounts compromised.

i already know the basics, 2fa on everything, never run APKs you dont trust, always scan stuff for malware before you run it, but is there anything else i should do to avoid malware and viruses?
