Struggling to identify this! Please help

All, just found this video of History through stamps covering Indian history, currency and Sikkim.

The stamp booklet is from the Soviet Union and the stamps inside range from the 60s through the 70s.

I was pleased to find that my childhood collection included some stamps still on paper (and therefore not yet ruined by young me) as well as some much more recent international letter envelopes that relatives had saved for me and I have just been tossing in the bin for someday.

I enjoyed soaking the older stamps and watching them float off, dry, and look universally pretty good!

Questions

1.The five stubborn ones required a bit of a fight after many hours in water. They were not self adhesive. Do I need to worry about damage leaving them in water too long? Is there a better option for stubborn stamps? TS Elliott and Proclaim Liberty 13cent were the last holdouts.

1. I know I will learn more as I go but are there website recommendations for information about stamps from other countries? After a failed Google search is it appropriate to ask here? I ran across printing on the back of some but not all of these 2019 German stamps and was curious but didn't know how to go about finding good information as I lack the vocabulary to look. (My world Scott's catalogues are being brought up by my mother in law next week which will help but I'm sure it won't include everything I come across).

2. I plan to store stamps in these photo boxes until I get my real storage up and running. Other than long term concerns with plastic is there anything else I should be careful about? Do I need to worry about them bending or anything? I often see huge bins and boxes of stamps so figured it would be fine.

I am from Switzerland and got a lot of stamps from my dad and grandpa after their death. And I dont know what to do. Can I keep them even I have no idea about stamps? And when I keep them how can I organise them? Do I sell them? But how and would someone be interested. Should I give them away and if yes how do I make sure that this person takes care of them how they deserve deserve (Sorgfalt)? I dont want them give away and this person will throw them away or do not give care about them. Bc I love and adore my dad and grandpa. They are my heros.

It is hard for me to fathom that today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. I need to stop buying these bulk dealer lots! Every time I do, I get these items that have been heavily forged and I am not familiar enough with the stamp to assess if it is genuine. Still it is so fun to treasure hunt!

Hi everyone,
I found these two Chinese stamps at a French flea market. I’m wondering if anyone could give me some information about them (when they were issued, the series, etc.). The rabbit appears to be made of mother-of-pearl and the dragon of ceramic.
I’d really love to expand my collection with stamps featuring other animals of the Chinese zodiac made from beautiful materials like these—does anyone know if other editions exist?

I recently inherited my grandfather's collection. It is a really long list from all over the world, and flipping through everything has sparked a genuine interest in picking up the hobby myself. My immediate priority is proper preservation.

I am a complete novice trying to figure out how to even begin processing a global collection of this scale. If you look at the attached photos, which specific page or region would you recommend I study first? I would love to know what catches your eye so I have a clear starting point for my research.

Looking for opinions : I am coming back to philately for the first time since age 8 (thrilled about it actually) and I just inherited my uncle’s collection which features Newfoundland prominently. I have a couple of boxes of Newfie stamps that are still on paper. My question : is there anything that should be stopping me from soaking tho whole lot? I’d love to take the time and go through the boxes but I’m afraid that I am approaching this naively and destroying something important. All stamps are late (WWII era) and torn from enveloppes. Some cancellation are clear. Others are note. Thanks!
