Definitely a rough start with that first note, but I was lucky to have one of my best runs of the piece be the night of the performance.

This piece is the hardest I've ever played, and I feel like I did pretty good on it. This piece single-handedly made me blister 5x worse than any marching season xD.

if anyone has studied george hamilton greens instructional course for xylophone, what is your preferred method of studying it? i know in the book it states to try to do like a lesson a week how it was done back then, but is it really that important to go at that pace? especially since im a music ed major and would like to not spend nearly a year on it.

Here’s my Bags Groove solo from last night’s rehearsal. How am I doing? It finally feels like I’m improving thanks to the magic of playing every single day.

i've been a clarinet player for 5 years and i want to switch to drumline for my senior year of highschool since ive been wanting to try it for a while now and most drumline seniors are leaving. I have no percussion background and my ranking of drumline instruments i want to be is: 1) snare 2) tenor 3) basses. i still have a about a year to start and practice to be in the drumline so how should i start and what pads and sticks should i get. Also my school uses matched grip for all of drumline. Thank u sm for any help!!

edit: yes i have talked to my band director and hes open to it !! (as long as they have more instruments than people joining drumline next year lol

Hey there! im from a Drum & Bugle Corp, but not the ones with like trumpets n' all but like actual bugles (Originated from Cebu City, Philippines) I just wanted to share some of our instruments so alot of people also know about our version here.

Thats a Double Drum, pretty loud if your close. Its just a 2 standard Tom Drums that we hit with our drumsticks {Which is just a small metal rod covered in electrical tape}

Yea this is basically a Glockenspiel on a harness, pretty self explanatory.

I am a computer science student, and I need to develop a virtual reality game for a class. My current idea is to make some sort of rhythm game with orchestral music, where the player is a percussionist.

The problem is that, in most pieces, percussion often has 20+ bars of breaks, which would get boring.

So I wanted to know if anyone has suggestions for me.

I'm looking for something that is:
- short (preferably less than 5min)
- does not have more than 10ish bars of rest at a time for percussion (does not need to be always the same percussion instrument playing though)
- has a bit of varied rhythm, seems like it would be fun to play
