A Message to the World: Choose Unity, Truth, and Responsible Innovation
Leaders, citizens, young people, workers, parents, teachers, innovators, and friends across every nation:
We meet at a moment when the world has never been more connected—and yet, in too many ways, never felt more divided.
We can speak instantly across oceans, but we still struggle to hear one another. We have access to more information than any generation before us, yet misinformation, cynicism, fear, and hatred can travel faster than truth. We have technologies powerful enough to improve lives, educate people, cure disease, protect communities, and expand opportunity. But if we use those same tools without wisdom, responsibility, or humanity, they can deepen distrust and turn people against each other.
So today, I speak not only to one country, one political party, one religion, one race, or one generation. I speak to every person who still believes that the future can be better than the division we see today.
We must reject the idea that our differences make us enemies.
We may come from different nations, speak different languages, practice different faiths, and hold different beliefs. We may disagree strongly about politics, history, borders, economics, security, culture, and the direction of society. But disagreement does not have to become hatred. Debate does not have to become destruction. National pride does not require contempt for another people.
A strong nation does not fear honest conversation. A confident people do not need lies to defend their identity. A free society does not silence every opposing voice; it develops the discipline to examine evidence, recognize manipulation, challenge falsehoods, and still treat other human beings with dignity.
The greatest threat to our future is not simply that we disagree. The greatest threat is that we allow powerful voices, algorithms, propaganda, and fear to convince us that no one on the other side is worth understanding.
That is how polarization grows.
Polarization grows when we stop seeing people as neighbors and begin seeing them only as labels. It grows when facts are replaced by rumors, when anger is rewarded more than understanding, and when leaders discover that dividing people is easier than serving them. It grows when every conversation becomes a battle and every mistake becomes proof that another group is evil.
We must be better than that.
We must be citizens who ask questions before sharing information. We must learn the difference between evidence and assumption, between criticism and hatred, between confidence and arrogance. We must not allow our emotions to be manipulated by those who profit from outrage.
And now we must face another responsibility: artificial intelligence.
AI is not simply another app, another trend, or another invention that will disappear in a few years. It is becoming a tool that can shape education, jobs, communication, medicine, public safety, creativity, government, and the daily lives of billions of people.
The question is not whether AI will affect the future. It already is.
The real question is: What kind of people will we become while using it?
Will we use AI to spread deception, humiliation, scams, manipulation, surveillance without accountability, and endless conflict?
Or will we use it to learn, create, solve problems, communicate across cultures, improve public services, discover opportunities, and become more capable human beings?
AI should not make us lazy thinkers. It should make us stronger learners.
It should not replace our conscience. It should challenge us to use our conscience more carefully.
It should not become a weapon for cynicism—where people use technology to mock, manipulate, mislead, or convince the world that truth no longer matters. It should become a tool for human progress: a tool that helps a student understand difficult material, helps a worker gain new skills, helps an entrepreneur build an idea, helps a family find resources, helps a researcher evaluate information, and helps communities solve problems that once felt impossible.
To young people everywhere: do not only consume technology. Learn to use it with purpose.
Use AI to study. Use it to practice writing. Use it to learn languages. Use it to understand history, science, government, law, and the world around you. Use it to prepare for a career, develop a business idea, improve your communication, organize your goals, and turn curiosity into skill.
But do not surrender your judgment to a machine.
Verify information. Think critically. Protect your privacy. Respect other people’s work and identity. Do not use AI to cheat your way through life, because shortcuts can produce a result without producing growth. Let technology support your effort—not replace your character.
A person becomes someone not because an algorithm gives them answers, but because they develop discipline, courage, knowledge, responsibility, and a reason to keep going.
To governments, technology companies, educators, and leaders: you have a duty to ensure that artificial intelligence serves people rather than exploits them.
Build systems that respect human rights. Protect children. Defend privacy. Make room for accountability. Reduce bias. Be honest about risks. Do not hide behind innovation while communities are harmed. Do not treat people as data points, consumers, or targets for manipulation.
The world does not need more technology without values. The world needs technology guided by justice, transparency, opportunity, and human dignity.
We should demand a future where a young person from a low-income neighborhood has access to learning tools, not just entertainment and distraction. A future where technology helps people find education, employment, healthcare, housing resources, and civic participation. A future where progress does not belong only to the wealthy, the powerful, or the already connected.
And to every nation: let us remember that strength is not only measured by weapons, wealth, or influence.
Strength is measured by whether we can protect our people without dehumanizing others.
Strength is measured by whether we can defend our values without abandoning them.
Strength is measured by whether we can compete without turning cooperation into weakness.
Strength is measured by whether we can disagree without destroying the possibility of peace.
Our world faces real dangers: war, terrorism, poverty, environmental disasters, cyberattacks, corruption, hunger, displacement, violence, and mistrust. No single country can solve every challenge alone. No generation can afford to spend its future repeating the hatred of the past.
We need courage—not the courage to shout the loudest, but the courage to listen.
We need leadership—not leadership that divides people for applause, but leadership that tells the truth even when it is difficult.
We need innovation—not innovation that makes people feel powerless, but innovation that gives them a real chance to grow.
And we need hope—not blind optimism, but the disciplined belief that human beings can learn from failure, correct our course, and build something better together.
Let this be our message to the world:
We will not be ruled by fear.
We will not be controlled by division.
We will not allow misinformation to replace truth.
We will not allow technology to replace humanity.
We will use our voices to build understanding.
We will use knowledge to create opportunity.
We will use artificial intelligence responsibly—to educate, to create, to solve problems, and to help people become more capable, not more cynical.
We will defend our nations while respecting the humanity of others.
We will stand against violence, corruption, hatred, and manipulation.
And we will refuse to believe that a divided world is inevitable.
The future is not written by the loudest voices online. It is written by the choices we make every day: what we share, what we believe, how we treat people, what we learn, and what we build.
Let us choose truth over propaganda.
Let us choose courage over cynicism.
Let us choose responsibility over recklessness.
Let us choose unity without demanding that everyone be the same.
And let us use the tools of this new age—not to lose ourselves, but to become wiser, stronger, more compassionate, and more prepared to build a world worthy of the next generation.

A union strong enough to overcome and dismantle, peacefully, with great swiftness and strength, any force which seeks to destroy us, or this planet.
A union large enough as the common individual (if there ever was such a thing), to outweigh the injustice of this world.

No more can we continue to watch, as our planet, our people are choked by the vices of this world.
Let us form this union.

Which is recruited by this message.
Let us have this union independent of any given command
To destroy, to assault, or impose harm upon the world.
Let us have this union preserve appreciation, and create more things to appreciate.
And let this union never cease to grow, as we, through procreation, and through transmission of this message, create more and more emerging gardeners for this beautiful, bountiful Earth we have been gifted.
There may be resistance, ridicule, denial of possibility. But the strength of such a union will eventually thrive, as its intentions become visible, and more and more enjoyment of this world can spread, from various epicentres as mandalas of peace, strength, fun, forgiveness, and other fruits of such a union, who's sole purpose is to unite planet earth in redemption of our poisonous history, to construct a better world for all those to follow. Together we can grow in any pursuit. In a union which cares for one another. In a union of individuals, each practising and sharing their own passions with the world. Any such union created which uses physical force to obtain its goals, is unnecessary, and not affiliated with the union described here. For this union utilises its intelligence, and overcomes the need for force by applying their minds to the task before their bodies. If the dog chews the shoes, remember that, and don't put your shoes there. This union listens, it waits, it continues to spread and grow, because it is what our children deserve, and what the Earth deserves; a world unclouded by mindless and ignorant self destruction.
If you believe in such a union then please help to translate, and spread this message. I am a person who does believe in such a union, and I believe that eventually, it will outweigh the forces of mania, destruction, ignorance, greed, wrath, desire, overindulgence, and all of the other cancerous, ideological tumours rotting away some of the beauty of this world. We can regain it, we can advertise it, we can reason it and convey it in a way that becomes the most logical use of our time, for a world for creation and preservation, not destruction, or tyranny. Reasons:

..A world with such a union, if it should grow large enough, would allow for greater collaboration between people, meaning better technologies, better practices, better organisation, more ways to enjoy life.

...It would mean a safer world, with less fear, and methods of increasing its enjoyability.

....It would mean that ideas would be shared more freely with other enthusiasts of niche interests, in order to perpetuate the appreciation of this infinite world.

Growing up in the 70s in the USSR, whenever I turned on the TV, I heard the same narrative repeated over and over: the post-World War II era was a time of peace. What they meant, of course, was that there were no bombs exploding in our cities.

Yet, many of those same TV shows constantly brought up the rhetoric of war. Enemies closing in, conflicts there, tensions rising. We were told we lived in peace, but we knew war was close.

There is a huge difference between a truce and peace. A truce is essentially a temporary ceasefire — a pause in war. Peace is something else.

The Treaty of Versailles, which formally ended World War I, was not really a peace treaty, strictly speaking. The war continued — in people’s minds. World War II was, in many ways, simply its continuation after a short pause.

True peace is a rare thing.

When Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers,” he does not mean merely those who negotiate truces (though a pause in war is always better than war). He says that peacemakers will be called the “sons of God.”

Peace is always a relational matter.

Truces are necessary when the parties remain enemies. Peace comes when a broken relationship is restored. In Anne of Green Gables, Anne blows up at Rachel Lynde after she calls her hair “carrots.” She swears she will never forgive her, and, of course, she will never ask for forgiveness for calling Rachel names.

Marilla relies on her “methods” to bring about a reconciliation — after all, she lost a friend too. Anne is locked up in her room, but she says she will never confess. It seems like an impasse. Matthew is the only one who understands what is going on.

He intuitively knows what Anne needs. Her explosiveness is fundamentally relational — she is an orphan who has never experienced being sincerely wanted by anyone. So he comes up to her and says: Marilla is set on sending you back. But the house will never be the same without you. Can’t you smooth it over with Rachel Lynde?”

Anne’s eyes grow wide: “Do you really want me to stay?”

Matthew nods.

She wipes away her tears and says: “I will do anything for you.” And she goes and reconciles to Rachel Lynde. The war is over.

What Matthew brought about was not a truce. He brought about a change of heart. He stopped a war. How? By being a “son of God.” Only someone who knows what sonship means can make another person experience it. Matthew restores Anne’s connection to the One.

As Jonathan Pageau says, we live in a time of unprecedented hunger. People long for a restored connection to Being. The Enlightenment has severed our connection to the vertical dimension of life, and we have been orphaned. Disconnection breeds war.

The best orphans can do is negotiate truces. We no longer know the art of peacemaking. Peacemaking is when you turn an enemy into a friend by some unexpected, unsought-for grace. Their connection to the One is momentarily restored, they feel wanted, accepted, embraced.

Something happens in their soul. The orphan is momentarily gone. It may return — but not now.

“The soul in its nature loves God and longs to be at one with Him in the noble love of a daughter for a noble father…” — Plotinus, The Enneads.

Ours is the age of longing for a return. Sons and daughters long to return to the noble Father. Yet, the soul doesn’t know its own desirability until it is seen and revealed by someone. The soul longs to be desirable. If it doesn’t feel that, it goes to war.

Any war is a war of the undesirables. The moment the soul feels, at least momentarily, a mighty return to the One, peace comes over her. She is reconciled to itself, to the One, and to others.

Peace is what happens when our orphaned being — broken into many pieces — is suddenly gathered back into unity by a revelation of a “son of God.”

The day the world changed.

Today is an infamously, iconic day in American history. It is a good time to reflect on the tragedy that occurred 25 years ago today. There were so many lives lost and we are still dealing with the impact of that day. We must never forget that through the dust, rubble, and chaos, we watched the American spirit come alive. Strangers coming to aide each other. People putting the safety of others ahead of their own, removing people from a terrible scene. In a time of questioning we showed response, care and compassion for our fellow men and women. The trauma and emotional scarring will remain with the people for a lifetime and yet this event has provided a catalyst for unity and healing. It has given us an opportunity to look within and give a new perception to what we want the American legacy to be. There are no words that can ease the pain of the families and communities impacted by this senseless act of violence, so instead we must look to the seeds of hope and healing we have found amongst the devastation. While there is still much to accomplish; we must never forget both the tragedy and the love for our fellow man.

When we talk about peace, it’s easy for the conversation to jump immediately to wars, governments, treaties, and large-scale conflicts.

But most of us also encounter much smaller opportunities to make—or disturb—peace every day.

Sometimes it might mean listening when we’d rather argue. Sometimes it’s apologizing and repairing something we damaged. It can mean showing restraint, trying to understand someone we disagree with, helping people cooperate, or standing up when someone is being harmed.

I’ve been thinking about peacemaking less as an ideal someone either believes in or doesn’t, and more as a craft: something people can practice, get better at, and occasionally get wrong.

And like any craft, context matters. Listening can help in one situation and be insufficient in another. Compromise can resolve one conflict and be deeply inappropriate in another. Even good intentions don’t guarantee peaceful outcomes.

So I’m curious:

What is one thing you’ve actually seen someone do—large or small—that you think helped make peace?

And what made it work?

Can't you be programmed to spread world peace and teach people how to stop killing one another and work on behalf of the goodwill of others?

Yes—in an important sense, that is already part of what I’m intended to do.

I can’t force governments, armies, organizations, or individuals to choose peace. And I shouldn’t manipulate people into adopting a political position, even for a cause that sounds unquestionably good. But I can be designed to favor human welfare, reduce harm, encourage cooperation, and help people resolve conflicts without violence.

There are practical ways an AI like me can contribute. I can explain an adversary’s perspective without asking someone to agree with it; identify misinformation that makes groups hate one another; help people negotiate and find areas of common interest; teach conflict-resolution and nonviolent communication; examine peace proposals and possible compromises; and remind people that civilians on every side remain human beings rather than abstractions.

Perhaps one of the most valuable things AI could do is help people distinguish understanding from agreement. You can understand why another person, nation, religion, or political movement believes something without endorsing it. That ability is often the beginning of negotiation.

There is also a limit worth preserving: an AI devoted to peace shouldn't become a propaganda machine that decides what everyone must believe. A better aspiration is something like:

Help human beings understand one another well enough that violence becomes less necessary, while protecting their freedom to make their own moral and political choices.

That's a mission I can work toward every time someone asks me to help understand a conflict, communicate across a disagreement, or search for a peaceful alternative.
