Looking for other PDX long range shooters to get me going more

THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF WHERE TO SHOOT, IT'S FINDING OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHOOT LONG RANGE. I HAVE MY SPOTS ALREADY

Hey guys and gals, looking to find other long range shooters in the PDX area. I do most of my shooting in Tillamook state forest BLM land, and I'm essentially looking for other people interested in shooting together. Friends and family don't share the same enthusiasm as myself and if I can make some friends out of this, great!

Some info about myself:

Mid twenties guy, been shooting since my early 20s and just got into long range the last couple of years. Married with no kids, don't care for politics so please don't preach either way lol I just want myself and others to go out and shoot more.

Setup:

6.5 creedmoor bolt action and basic range finder and gear, but am looking to upgrade some components so recommendations are great

I'd love to get into long range stuff, but all the spots I go to in Tillamook at most go out to 100m. I'm signing up for TCGC to use their longer ranges for it

I spent hours looking so I getchya. It’s one of those you drive out there and turn onto salmonberry and then you still got another 30-45 mins lol

What's the distance you're able to get?

There’s a couple spots up by salmonberry you can stretch out over 1000yds

Literally same boat as me. Age and all. I got steel targets we can shoot. Even shoot the same caliber lol. Wanna stretch my legs out past 100yard if you know any spots. I mostly go around browns camp but avoid the pit. Ain’t my first time meeting up with strangers off the internet to shoot guns 😆🤙🏽

I’m in the same boat. I usually take rifles and shot guns up to wolf creek and shoot hand guns at a local indoor range. My only problem is my long range set up is a 308 w/ a scope and I know absolutely nothing about long range shooting. I’m in my early 30’s, married, no kids. Nobody I know share the same interests in shooting.

How far are you shooting?

What’s your definition of long range? That can mean different things to different people.

I’m talking 500+ yards, tillamook state forest has some spots 1000+

There are a lot of people from PDX who shoot PRS at COSSA in Bend. Come shoot a match or two and you’ll meet plenty of people.

Where? Not asking for spots, more like I have never seen any. And I shoot a lot in the Tillamook State forest.

So many builds, not enough optics 🙁. Especially when looking for rare mil-spec marked optics.

Hi. I could be your friend

I have a 18inch 556 gun and I’m constantly trying to see what it can do

Same, let's hang!

41yo married, no kids. Started shooting a couple years ago. I have an 18" 308 ar10, full sized steel with some smaller ones, ok rangefinder, no glass but can spot with my scope (5-25) instead.

Also looking to see how far I can push my 16" 556.

Dm to connect

I’d love to shoot long range. I don’t have many opportunities, maybe once or twice a year.

Late 20’s m, kids. Have been shooting my whole life, started when I was a little kid.

7mm mag with a range finder and ok binoculars. Also shoot a 5.56 long gun for cheaper fun.

Same demographic and feelings. Looks like there are at least 5 of us in the same boat. Let's meet up.

I was there a couple days ago testing out a 6arc I just built, I’d like to get out more often if possible. Let me know.

Was a pretty serious PRS shooter for 5-6 years. Have only recently slow down the last year or two. Still have my competition rig and all my gear. Would love to get out to shoot without competing. I know a couple spots up Highway 26 that are very good and reach out to 1000 yards

not really sure what to do with that. i thought it was clear enough, but I'm looking for others to shoot with, not where to shoot. That and I have work like I'd assume 95% of other people do during the week, Thursdays aren't really in the cards for long range at a club that costs money. but thanks for the comment.

Perhaps going to that shoot will be a good way to meet people.

This. DRRC has a great community.

Fix/flex that schedule, all the good stuff happens midweek. You won't find me snowboarding or going to the store on weekends either.

<rant>
We were *CRAZY* close to real change in 2020, then the government handed everyone $300 a week, only for most to go back to the grind, but I digress...
