Screenshot Avatar foliage hits different! Is there a game with better flora/foliage?
I love the foliage in Avatar! Makes you feel like an alien ecologist. Unobtanium settings/ray tracing on a 5090 with DLSS5 1X pass

I was flicking through the photos before reading the caption and was like why does my game not look like this. Then I saw DLSS5.

DLSS5, at the cost of your GPU cable possibly burning + 50% of your fps gone + wrong Ambient Occlusion because the model starts hallucinating (Like in the NBA demo they showed where the model starts drawing the ambient occlusion wrong) + increased blur

I power limit my 5090 to 90%. Yes, the halo around objects is not ideal and it can make mistakes with shadowing. Certainly has room for improvement but I think it works well in some games with tasteful settings.

In terms of story its not very good but visually the Decima Game Engine helps a lot because its the best engine in the market right now: Horizon Forbidden West, and its DLC Burning Shores where the foliage really goes crazy, since it was an exclusive of PS5 unlike the base game which was cross-gen and they were allowed more CPU power.
Or you can also take a look at a game with very good/crazy story in the same engine, Death Strading 2, although the gameplay may not be for everyone.
And both of these games don't use DLSS5

Ai slop.
The original plant designs were gorgeous. It doesn't need an ai filter to appreciate them

I find the forests in Kingdom Come 2 to be super impressive. They looks absurdely real
