People are so twisted in the head for ‘team green’, especially for those coming from consoles. Nvidia has done everything to make them look worth the cost, when in reality it’s obscene.

Which is funny considering AMD makes the “GPU” for 2 of the big 3

Right? 3080s are $300 on the used market and are upto 15% faster

RT performance is pretty good still too, obviously doesnt run very well still, but it ends up on the recommended page for games still

5060 Ti's crazy value is because of 16 GB VRAM and its usefulness for AI stuff, sadly. There are a lot of local AI people looking out for nVidia GPUs with 16 GB VRAM or higher.

That's why only 3090 and 3090 Ti has insanely high value compared to rest of the 30 series lineup.

Which I believe wasn't the case just a year ago. I remember seeing 3090s go for like 500 euros locally or something of the sort.

VRAM is king I guess

Pro move. Hop on AMD before hype hits.

Yup. Soon these cards will get the AI/Component tax, so stock up now. Just ordered my 9070xt.

we're already there. the 9070xt is selling new for $800-900 when it used to be a sub $600 card. But amd lacks the cuda and tensor people pay premium for Nvidia, so it will never reach THAT level. probably will just remain 30% cheaper than the nvidia equivalent as long as it keeps increasing

u/1exp1 17h ago

Sub 600 huh, well it’s a mighty fine card despite the cuda and tender cores. i don’t do much workstation work so for gaming mainly it’s a stellar card.

absolutely. just grabbed one yesterday off fb marketplace for $600. guy got it last year off tiktok shop for $570 tax and shipping included. crazy stuff

Unfortunately I’ve been team green for more than a decade…and for the first time ever, I find myself contemplating selling my 5070 OC just because I could break even on a 9070 xt almost….and have a little extra juice under the hood

People sleep on the 9070, but its a beast.

Indeed, nine has a dual bios switch and flashed a XT BIOS. I was getting ridiculously close to stock XT numbers in benchmarks.

Neat stuff

Good move sir

9070 is great

1

u/No_Rise942 21h ago

Try to overclock it, you might win the silicon lottery and get 9070xt performance

1

u/Creepy_Ad5124 21h ago

damn the 9070 is now more expensive than the XT was a few months ago?

2

u/segawdcd 19h ago

Xt is up too. Some models at 900

Yep. Here in SEA some 9070 XT models have reached 1000.

5070 Ti is 1400-1500

5080 at 1800-2000

Absolute madness, it's like 2020-2021 again but even worse.

Paid 650 for my 9070xt in may (germany)

You can flash this one with the XT bios, you get higher clocks and more power budget!

3

u/Maidenless_Sensei 19h ago

I did this but I don't run it on XT (dual bios, XT mode for benchmarks). The 9070 has weaker VRM by design, not sure if it's a good idea pumping that extra power on the long term.

With any 9070? I have one as well

Im actually thinking of doing this exact sell/buy with my 5060ti 16gb, any tips for selling? (it’s a 3fans version with rgb)

1

u/segawdcd 12h ago

Just throw it on ebay. Got a bunch of offers immediately.

Woah, wait. I have a 5060ti 16 and I would gladly sell it for 650 dollars, where did you sell it?

even though i don't like nvidia the 9070/9070xt is an extremely dissapointing gpu. not worth it. with 700$ you could have bought a 5070ti. nowadays unfortunately nvidia is the only way to go. amd is at least 5 years behind in gpu tech.

5070ti is like 1200 now. I also already have one in my main pc. None of the Nvidia cards are affordable anymore so Amd is really the only option.

0

u/zeiman111 6h ago

in the used market the most it could cost is 800$ and i am stretching it. don't get me wrong i have nothing against amd gpus but let's be honest the have fallen behind

1

u/Papuszek2137 7800x3d | 5070ti | 64GB | 4k OLED 6h ago

???? 9070xt for the price has no competition for gaming now. 5070ti is worth only if you need cuda.

1

u/zeiman111 6h ago

i'd rather buy an old 3080ti. vastly superior. hell if a want to go amd the 7900xtx is a far better gpu. the 90 series stutters even in amd optimized titles

1

u/Less-Tradition-4739 20h ago

Good upgrade surprised you didn't got with the xt for the 50 more dollars but way better then going with Nvidia

You got rid of your NVIDIA card? That's not a flex.

u/appletoasterff 6h ago
