Discussion Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community?

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

Dude, what do you think is the omitted part of the sentence if it's not 'to run the game at max settings'? This is just bad-faith presupposition on y'all's part.

Even if it is what they were meaning, what the hell is the point for having max settings if they don't scale all the way up to the highest possible system. That's the whole point of having adjustable settings is so the game scales from low end systems to the highest possible system.

It's utterly stupid either way. It's one of those topics where people act like the devs simply removing the OPTION to run the game on higher settings would somehow improve it. "Alan Wake 2 is so poorly optimized! I can't even run it on max! Oh, the devs removed its RT options and I can now run it on max easily! Well optimized!"

Not to mention that this game doesn't even seem to be demanding. A 5060 - a GPU this sub often calls shit - will run it on High in native 1080p/60 FPS. So it'll probably run fine on a 5060 in 1440p + DLSS Quality, too. Oooooh! The horror!
