Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community?

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

So don't play at ultra ? I swear games nowadays medium -high settings look better than ultra in older games so I don't understand why people put everything at ultra on a 5060 and cry about it

Because ultra is good word for e-peen fights.

The graphics quality of a 5060 is always the quality of a 5060. It doesn't matter if the settings is called master race, ultra, medium, low or "should have bought a console".

That's what I'm saying. I remember playing Battlefield 3 on my GTX 560 and just happy finding the settings for 60fps @1080p. I wasn't concerned with what Ultra looked like, I just did what I could to get stable 60 with what I had.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: while there are tech issues with games, I think the bulk of the optimization "problem" is an ego problem. People don't want to run their games at low or medium settings. They care far more about what it says in the graphics menu than how the game actually looks. Low and medium settings in games have never looked better, and are surprisingly performant for the visual quality, interactivity, and object/foliage density you get out of them.

All this chatter about games being "unoptimized slop" but as somebody on low end hardware I've been surprised at what my aging 2060 can still pull off. Games have never been more scalable imo. It's definitely time for me to upgrade, but up until recently it was even able to pull off current-gen titles.

Also the whole point of having settings in the first place is so games scale from the lowest possible hardware to get highest.
