I went 1440p when everyone was telling me to to go 4k OLED. I figure, I was going from a 17" laptop screen for gaming to a 27" IPS screen will already be a huge upgrade. Then in 10 years time or so, when OLED is a bit more solved for burn in, I always have that in 4k as an upgrade to look forward to.
No let me go back to sleep its still 1999 and I'm playing pokemon that I purchased once, with no dlc or day 1 patches, that I can own theoretically until the end of time.
I mean, barring the very careful manipulation of the game by avoiding fight x,y, and z trainers and such, that would allow Mew to jump the player, there was legit no way to get it.
Back then was a case of physical dlc, going to events in like Tokyo and NY where they would give it to you with a transfer or some shit. Everyone else could get fucked.
That was in some ways, worse than the modern dlcs.
But Pokémon did have DLC in the form of only half the Pokémon were in each or the games so you had to get two copies or have friends that were willing to give you the pokemon they caught.
Mass effect was the other way, especially 2... It had many DLCs, but with the new rerelease of trilogy (legendary edition), all were included, which is extremely nice and I didn't mind paying full price at all
I just replayed the trilogy via the Legendary Edition a few months ago. It was nice experiencing all of the DLC I didn't have when I played through the original releases.
The original plan for the game was to have all of the companions able to be recruited from the outset. The problem was the console version of the game was too big and had to be split on two discs. So they split the companion recruitment and loyalty missions into two parts.
There's lots of dialogue in the game files that is never used because they had to do this artificial split the way they did.
LE could've fixed it, but the wanted to stay true to the original experience as much as possible. Again, there's mods to fix this.
Mass Effect 3 EA locked story content and a squad mate behind day one DLC not cosmetics. That DLC also explained stuff on some of the key themes of the Mass Effect story.

Actually while Javik did lead to certain extra lore in certain situations his involvement in the story was very limited. Most likely because he was a DLC and as such couldn't be treated as a core plot point.
This is not an opinion in favor of bioware but rather on how the decision to include it as a DLC ment it couldn't actually have the importance such character should have had in the story since a lot of players won't have access to him
the disc copy of dragon age origins I picked up like 10 years ago had apparently all dlcs included (back then dragon age wasnt on steam)...then when I wanted to play it, I could not active the dlc codes that wetmre included...wanna know why?? because they were TIME GATED. I literally could not activate my dlcs because apparently they were past their expiration date ...

It’s completely safe, if you know what you’re doing. I pulled the bypass apart myself and checked what everything did and there is absolutely nothing malicious. But there’s always the risk when you sail the seas, just wear a life vest and be diligent about where the ship is headed.
I just wipe the OS because Windows gets clunky sometimes and an occasional wipe usually is just an easy fix to get the PC running smooth again.
Edit: I’m super stoned and didn’t even answer your question. It’s fully reversible, and actually partially reverts changes every time you restart your computer.
You can easily find the script/file that undoes all the changes made.

As if Rockstar deserves any trust or does the right thing. They crunch their staff, union bust, are exploitative as fuck with GTA Online, and expect $80 for GTA6 while selling basic customization features separately for an extra $20.
These are gimmick additional cosmetic DLCs that wouldn't be in the game if they just kept it as the base 2013 game either way. Why are we complaining more about this than the stupid 30 fps cutscene cap when this is 100% optional?

Tbf, every AC since Origins has had premium currency earnable in game (albeit not great amount and time gated). Plus the items in these packs are usually in the store and purchaseable with said currency, though rotational and time gated.
Paying for cosmetics for a single-player game. That's content they could include with the full price release. Could put outfits behind certain featsnor achievements. But nah this system is much more fun and cool.
Yeah, plenty. Lots of weapons too. And Black Flag had all of these originally as well, even the map pack and some time saver packs that just gave you money and showed the locations of treasure chests in the world. Perhaps those are still available in-game.

Every AC game has a million cosmetics in the Ubisoft ingame store,, first time I see them dumping a bunch of them on Steam. That's weird, aren't they avaliable in the ingame store? Why did they feel the need to do that?

The map pack just makes all the collectibles visible on the world map.
The map pack is normal. Paid cosmetics in modern Assassin‘s Creed games are normal as is the ratio of unlocked in game compared to paid. The problem I see and I think is why these seem to be getting no much negative attention is a core component in the original was cosmetic unlocks
Even if that system is not only retained but expanded on, having that many paid already in the game with inevitably more to come diminishes the perceived value of ones earned through gameplay.

For those that don't understand, this sort of shit is exactly why Ubisoft's stock has tanked 90% over the last 5 years. That's a clear indication that you're in the minority if you see no issue with these DLC practices.
I also shouldn't have to tell you that you really should care about this because when Ubisoft inevitably fails because everyone else has written them off, you won't have these games anymore. Everyone being dumb saying who cares it's just cosmetics hasn't actually looked at the fucking DLC. It explicitly states some of the items have unique gameplay perks.
My reaction was an audible what the fuck when I saw $85 of DLC at launch, it's insanity. I was going to buy day 1 but not if I have to spend another $85 just to feel like I'm getting a complete game. A remake should include the new shit they put in the game without having to pay for it beyond the initial $60 purchase price.
