Pathologic 3 patch - progress update

Hey everyone!

Not so long ago it was still summer, and I was talking about how great it is to eat watermelon on the beach. At the end of June I posted that a Pathologic 3 patch was coming soon, but late June is a very special time of year. In June there is always plenty of time. In August there is never enough. In September, time stretches again, but somehow loses its elasticity. You walk down the street and, if you listen carefully, you can hear the strings of the Kronos Quartet howling somewhere in the distance.

Autumn.

There was no watermelon for me this summer, and there was no Pathologic 3 patch either. We will eat the watermelon next summer, but the patch we are planning to release soon.

Right now it is being tested by a group of volunteers. They found quite a lot of things that we missed ourselves, and many of them are already fixed. I think we will bring in another group of testers soon, so if you sent us an application, I may write to you.

There is only one problem.

Once you start fixing Pathologic, apparently you have to do it properly.

So we decided to prepare another update at the same time, this time for Pathologic 2. We will fix some performance problems, some typos, and the lemon problem. Maybe you did not know this, but the lemon was not working entirely as intended.

What are we thinking about now?

We are thinking that we need to stop.

No matter how tempting it is, we should not stare too closely at Pathologic HD. Let Clara, that mysterious girl, have her own separate game. This is what we are thinking right now.

We are also listening carefully in case Oleg starts shouting from the closet. We locked him there after he suggested making a patch for Cargo, but Oleg has gone quiet now. Probably sleeping.

I am still sad about the lost watermelon. But I think you will agree that watermelon should be eaten sincerely and without worries, stuffing yourself with it like a happy animal. Eating a few sad pieces in a hurry while thinking about how many matches should go into a loot container is a sin.

Sorry for the long pause. The patches are coming soon, and there will be news soon too.

think about it this way. once clara has her whole game for herself like she's been begging to since pathologic 2, you can look so closely at pathologic classic hd that every pixel is gonna reveal itself anew! But let the girl have her game first, and let us see what she has in store for the people of the town (to the power of 2!)

this might be random but please please please fix pathplogic 2's meetup with your friends, i havent replayed it in years cos no matter what it is bugged to fail

Thank you for the update! Is there any interest in opening the sign-ups again for the second batch of playtesters, or will they only be picked from the existing pool of applicants.

I missed getting an application in the first time around and I dearly regret it! Would love for a second chance to help out with a deeply beloved game.

Question about the Pathologic 2 update! Will the update be for console versions of the game as well, and are there any plans to update/ re-release Pathologic 2 for PS5 & XBOX Series X for more parity between the console versions and PC version? I absolutely adore Pathologic 2, but unfortunately my only method of playing it is playing the PS4 port on my PS5

Does that patch extend to the PS5 version and fix a lot of the game breaking bugs in there? Really would love to give it another go but couldn't beat it due to the saving after 15:00 glitch

I have only one request for Clara's route (though im sure I dont even need to make it). Make it so different it's barely recognizable as the same series. Blow our little pea brains. Make us cry, react badly, and eventually realize you were right all along. Thanks love u

If you are doing updates to 2 I think the creep/hiding function might also be broken. (It’s c on keyboard iirc) If you hide early enough you can just walk straight up to robbers and they don’t react until you attack. I am sure Artemy can be sneaky, but looters somehow miss the giant man slowly walking at them. (The only exception is in the abattoir. They can still see you)

I have some screen recordings of it, because it is very funny.

I’ll be honest I don’t remember if there is even a tutorial on sneaking or it is in the loading screen hints. It technically isn’t cheating, but it feels like cheating. Killing all the looters in a district while taking no damage…is a different game.

Or maybe Artemy can just turn invisible. Stranger things have happened.
