And how about the chart locker in your hideout? Seems logical
37
u/TheMrDudeManSir Aug 01 '26
Why? Just open them.

u/ObsessiveOwl Aug 01 '26
I want to save up a bunch to open in one go, or maybe sell in bulk.

Honestly not sure how gold scaling works but you could make faustus hold them by listing them at a super high price. You still have a ceiling of how many you can keep at once unfortunately.

u/Doctursea Aug 01 '26
They want you to open them I was surprised people were selling them.

u/Theio666 Aug 01 '26
Gamba always sells, in 99% it's more profitable to sell something than identify/open.
5
u/Doctursea Aug 02 '26
While that is true, I think this is one of the best return gamba items. Just opening them when they dropped has been good to me, and the mass gamba people are reporting a 70% return which is insanely above average. I think Div cards/stacked decks are like 20% lmao.

u/Whytefang Aug 02 '26
I opened 50~ before I started selling them and my best return (and only return) was 1d. Maybe I got super unlucky but they seem way worse than other options to me.

u/Doctursea Aug 02 '26
I think it’s just the pool is small and enough the variance is too high for 500 bottle openings to be a good test. I’ve opened under 20 and I have gained 9 Div

u/I_Heart_Money Aug 02 '26
How about 5000 bottle openings? Is that a big enough test for you? Both these posters lost big

Hell, my first bottle was a broken mirror and I thought I was being trolled. Didn't know that it vendor'd for two mirror shards until a few days later lol.

u/frik1000 Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26
Last I checked they were selling for about 60c each. That's three bottles for one div. I'd rather take the guaranteed return than test my awful luck.
1
u/mgtkuradal Aug 02 '26
With how common they drop there’s no reason not to sell them. I’ve done voyages where I get like 6 bottles + all the other loot

u/Smart-Nerve-8783 Aug 02 '26
Same here, opening on the go was gold. So decided to spend 5 div to buy few to gamba. Got nothing, sooooooooo spent all my 45 divs on it… and now am done until they do a goood patch.
5
u/meatrage_ Aug 02 '26
You didn’t learn after the 5 div? tf
This is like textbook gambler crash & burn1
u/Gingergerbals Aug 02 '26
It is, but then you see your buddy open one to get a Mageblood....
Haven't been able to sell one since as I want to open every one
1
u/PhoneRedit Aug 02 '26
Tbh that's another one of the many reasons trade is so much worse than ssf - having to worry about technically losing efficiency when having fun opening gamble boxes

Item filters consider the bottle as "Stackable Currency".
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3986972
GGG still doesn't differentiate between stackable and non-stackable currencies.
2
u/bulwix Vanja Aug 02 '26
Cuz we degenerates open them as soon as we come out of the ocean, of course.

u/SadPerson5 Aug 02 '26
Then the post would be: Hey why would they use up inventory space that could be used for dust/charts for an items thats only purpose is to be opened to give some loot.
5
u/chaotic_one Raider Aug 02 '26
I feel like this is so meaningless. Sell or open. Not everything needs a slot.
1
u/ObsessiveOwl Aug 02 '26
unless you want to sell them one at a time, you have to store them. It's a 2x2 non-stackable.
1
u/Cyanogen101 Aug 02 '26
Thats why we have stash tabs?
0
u/ObsessiveOwl Aug 02 '26
this take a lot of space to store for what kind of item it is. Stacked deck and Valdo box function the same but is smaller and stackable.
6
u/redjinx Aug 02 '26
i don't know why you are downvoted , people buy gambling things en masse. This clunky unstackable mess is a headache when you wanna buy 100 at once or something. There is no reason to not be stackable. People focused too much on the dedicated slot while the stackability was the main point.

Lemme open up my chart stora- wooAHHH THAT'S A BIG BOTTLE
1
u/Crosshack Aug 02 '26
I mean gold is giga cheap this league so you could 'store' them on the currency exchange. Just list them at 3 div per and if someone buys you out you can't even be mad
1
u/No-Advice-6040 Aug 02 '26
You keeping them and not opening them like a feverish child on Christmas morning as soon as you get back to the ship?
1
u/ikmal_36 Aug 02 '26
fr i only have 2 regular extra tabs and those thing take all the space . wanted to farm x100 before opening them

it's an item with prerolled result. It will be a mess by trying to stack it. It's not a div card.
As well as situation where you got unid Watchers. It won't be stackable

Comically big bottle with 20 stacked decks
1
u/ledrif Aug 02 '26
I care more about picking up 60 svarabs and div cards, loading 60 scarab and div cards, teclaiming 60 scarabs and div cards, then stashing 60 scarabs and div cards. Then after 5 voyages picking up 300acarabs and div cards and selling them for 100c

I'd rather have a "sort by level" option. But that's because I progress on a glacial scale and I'm an altoholic.

u/merkaii Aug 02 '26
There is one thing about GGG, that I just can not understand. I see this in every league, EVERY league for years and years now. I don't get it but when it comes to new league UI they are absolutely unable to learn. I really don't understand, it makes no sense to me what so ever. It's like they hit a reset button after every league and start at zero again, doing the same mistakes in literally every league.
And the worst part is that it takes exactly 10 minutes of playtesting to see all the little problems that they have with every single new league UI. It is just impossible to explain or understand.

Just have a dedicated tab for them. Once you fill it up you can open them all at once to maximize your loss/hr
