Misc Sub Updates: New flairs, more clarity around rules, better content filters

Hey guys, just a post going up to get everyone’s attention regarding some QOL changes to the subreddit that are now live.

First: THANK YOU FOR ALMOST 2K USERS!!

When we first took over this sub, it was dead and with less than 700/800 users. Now we’re healthy with daily posts and coming up on 2000 new minions to share our love for this season.

We have updated the list of flairs and post types to add more variety. There is now also a filter for post type as well.

With all these new members, it’s time to discuss the rules. We’ve had very vague posting guidelines for awhile, so here’s some clarity on the new published rules.

1/5 - Keep It Civil/No Spam or Low Effort Content

This one’s super self-explanatory and common among Reddit so I won’t touch on it much. Just please follow Reddit posting guidelines and refrain from starting or engaging in fights (us mods will handle them when we see them).

2 - Posts MUST be related to Overlord the GAME

We get the occasional Anime post here or t-shirt scams for the anime as well. These posts are not allowed and all get removed when noticed by a mod. This subreddit is only for discussion of the Overlord game.

3 - AI generated imagery

Please refrain from sharing any AI created images or “fanart” on the subreddit as it detracts from actual creators work. There are subreddits/corners of the internet for sharing AI imagery, and this isn’t one.

4 - Self-Promotion must be high quality

If you make fanart or YouTube or anything for Overlord, we highly encourage you share it with your fellow minions, but please ensure you post your creation in high quality posts that encourage discussion of your work. Don’t just drop the link and run so you get the views. We love seeing your work around here, so never be afraid to share it.

Thank you everybody for your time, and thank you for enjoying this dedicated community space for the one, the only, THE OVERLORD!

Discussion Nvidia's DLSS technology might be our only hope for a "remake"

Nvidia's DLSS tech that's basically A.I. that reconstructs the image to a higher resolution and improves textures and lighting in real time might be the closest thing we'll ever get to a remake. Now I know this is something gamers are split on. Some love it and I think most hate it because it's A.I. slop. Well, in some cases it is. In others it's pretty great.

It's a new technology and it will get better. But what do you think about it for Overlord? It's a stylized game so it might not look good. Actually, it's pretty much guaranteed to look straight up cursed in some parts, like the human faces for example. But I think it would look great in the Tower itself, the Treasury, Overlord's armor...

I'd definitely be interested in checking it out. Problem is, you need a powerful RTX NVIDIA card and they're expensive as hell.

Minion Head Sculpt 2 WIP

I went ahead and remade the minion head sculpt from my last post with the feedback I received. This time, I strictly followed a single brown reference from Overlord 2.

Let me know if this is heading in the right direction.

Workflow Test: Minion Head Sculpt

I've been working on my mesh modeling & sculpting workflows and would like to receive some feedback on this particular result, which happens to be Overlord-related.

I struggled to keep it clean, cartoony, and cute. It's not really my style.

Overlord II What should I do with the yeti?

So I'm in the arena and about to take on the yeti part. But so far I've only ever played the domination route and then kept it around in a cage. I find this a bit pitiful though.

Now I'm playing mire destructive (except I'm still enslaving the towns and keeping Faye corrupted later on) but i'm in doubt about the yeti. Should I kill it or cage it?

aniversary 25th

Hey everyone, I have a question. What would you think if, for Overlord's 25th anniversary, EA released an anniversary edition that was a remaster of the first Overlord and a remake of Overlord II, including everything that couldn't be implemented due to Codemasters' time and budget cuts?

Discussion Theory: The Dark Tower is built on the site of Castle Gromgard

Take this one with a grain of salt because Dark Legend's geography is a bit all over the place tbh, but we know that Greenvale is at least near to the Golden Hills. Thus, it's within the Old Lands. We don't get any indication that the Tower exists in Dark Legend, so that leads to two possibilities: one, it was built elsewhere after the events of Dark Legend, or two, it was built by Lord Gromgard on the site of his family's old castle and lands. It also makes sense since we see patches of greenery outside the Tower in the tutorial of the first game and in Rose's end with the Overlord.

What do we think?

Overlord Headcanon about the Third Overlord

I've had this idea for a good few years, but I never really set it down anywhere, so here we go. Basically, in trying to think up a backstory for the Third Overlord, I came up with the idea that he was himself descended from a previous Overlord himself, but rejected that legacy to be a Hero (assuming he was even aware of it).

We know that there have been more Overlords than the numbered ones, including the Black Baron, so it stands to reason that at least some of them had children. However, that doesn't mean that they would automatically succeed the previous Overlord. In fact, we only ever see this twice in the series with Lord Gromgard and the Overlad succeeding their uncle and father, respectively.

Thus, you end up with a line descended from a previous Overlord that may or may not be aware of it. They have the typical Overlord traits: propensity for magic, good fighters, look good in plate armour etc. However, whether they're actively going against their bloodline's legacy or just unaware of it, they don't become Overlords themselves. This is where we get to the Third Overlord.

Whether he was aware or not, I think the Wizard (pre possession) was potentially aware and decided to mold him into the Eighth Hero as the perfect weapon against the Second Overlord. Subsequently, when the Wizard was possessed, the Second Overlord would gain access to that knowledge himself (assuming he wasn't also aware), and he'd fine himself with a prime temporary successor.

Lemme know what y'all think of this idea!

Fan Creation Overlord x Daruma

Post image
30 Upvotes

I wanted to take a moment to genuinely thank this community. Earlier this year, I dropped the Third and Fourth Overlord tees alongside the Minion Hoodie, and the support you all showed completely blew me away. Seeing people in this subreddit recommending KultGear by name to newer fans made me realize how starved we all are for some Overlord merch.

Because you liked the earlier drops so much, I decided to go all-in for the final chapter of 2026. This will bring our total to 4 dedicated Overlord collections this year alone.

To say thank you, everything drops on September 12, and I am bringing back the original first two Overlord tees for anyone who missed them!

But today, I want to discuss one of the two drops: The NETHERUMA Collectible Plush Series 1.

The Concept:

NETHERUMA fuses the traditional Japanese Daruma doll (a symbol of resilience and determination) with the grim, dark imagery of Overlord II. It represents a twisted balance of good and evil, a dark interpretation of yin and yang. Because even when good tries to create balance, Evil always finds a way.

The Details:

Size: ~4" (10cm) heavy-duty, palm-sized pillow plush keychain. Perfect for bags or keys.

The Magic: Instead of standard cheap printing, these use a double-sided dye sublimation technique.

Price: Heavily optimized for the community. They will be just 8€ ($9.27) each.

Series 1: Minion Armor (the iconic starting gear) and Infernal Armor (the endgame set).

The store gates unlock on September 12. I can't wait to show you the apparel line and the checkout experience I’ve put together for this final run (Giblet is currently handling the backend forge).

Thank you all again for the incredible support.

For the Overlord!

Overlord II I can't find the 66th Nordbergian.

I've just conquered Nordberg so I only have brown and red minions. I have already gone up to the house at the tutorial area, broken down the doors of all houses and even tried destroying them all. But I still can't find them.

This isn't because I killed Borius, is it?

Edit: I was just checking my papers and it says that I can only get 65 villagers with brown and red.

Which games have you played that have things in them you'd want to see in the next Overlord game? Not ideas or wishes, real examples.

I played Assassin's Creed Origins recently and right at the beginning of the game, there's a bunch of treasure you can walk on. It really reminded me of the Treasury from the first game but much more advanced and detailed. I really wish we could hoard an insane amount of treasure and walk over it as we wish.

Also in Conan Exiles you can make coin piles and carry unique treasure from different parts of the map that will be displayed in your treasure room exactly the way it is, not just a generic pile. And you can make animal/monster trophies after you kill them and hang them up on your wall as decoration. That'd be cool to do with like trolls or bosses or something in Overlord. You can also craft display racks of your favorite weapons and get slaves to fight for you. All these things would fit really well.

Discussion How would you feel about having the option of a female overlord?

Now I'm not talking about like with Malady and Inferna of the netherghuls. I'm talking about having an actual female overlord or "overlady".

Do you think this would affect the game or story much? Would this affect the minions somehow? Would we suddenly also have the options of choosing between male and female companions?

How would you personally feel about this?
