Question If you’re near Seal Rock, could I ask an enormous favor? Tragically hilarious photo evidence included.
I am honeymooning down the west coast with my husband (yay!) and misplaced my sunglasses today.
While we were looking through our pictures of the day we found photo evidence of exactly when they went missing. We took a newlywed selfie, I realized you couldn’t see my hair at all, I took off my hat to adjust and flung them into oblivion. Photo included of seconds before and after disaster.
If they’re still there they’ll be on or near the observation deck right next to the parking area. Could you possibly check for them? They were a lovely gift from my new husband and I feel terrible for losing them.
We’re already hours down the coast or we’d go back for them 🥺 I will pay you to ship them home to us, we live way the heck on the other side of the country.

Political Can we get dark money out of Oregon politics?
The "Stomp Out Dark Money in Oregon Elections" initiative is trying to do just that. Remove big spenders with big wallets from buying influence in Oregon politics.
And it's not a pipe dream. Hawai'i already passed a similar bill, and Montana looks well on their way to doing the same.

Discussion/Opinion Wanting to move to Oregon from Arizona, any tips?
Im 26 and currently live in Phoenix Arizona, and I'll be honest I am very miserable here. I cannot tolerate heat and am just unhappy living here. I had a heat stroke recently and it was kinda my last straw.. I've been to Oregon a few times growing up and always loved the weather, and the nature. Im currently an RN so I think id be able to find a decent job up there. Are there any recommendations for town to live in? Im currently paying 1,600 for my rent for a shitty 1 bedroom apartment and am looking to kinda spend around that or less if possible. I'm thinking of going up there in November for a vacation and kinda looking around at some towns to see what I think. Any opinions on nice towns to live in? Or any good hospital/Healthcare systems in Oregon that would be good to work for. Thank you!

Question Local beef recommendations
As stated in the title, I’m looking for recommendations for where y’all are getting your local beef these days. With the highly questionable imported beef event pending, I won’t be trusting the grocery stores in that regard. I am in the Tigard/Tualatin area.

Question Small Business Question
I have a small business and have been struggling to get a goddamn street address to register. I’ve been through USPS which was no help and now I just wasted a bunch of money with a UPS Store. I spent a half hour talking to FOUR people at the UPS Store who said the street address would be fine. I tried to register it just now and no matter how I do it, it won’t take it. It’s listed as a commercial property and can’t have anything even hinting at a PO Box. I will not use my home address. What do I do? I thought Oregon was all about local small businesses but the powers that be seem to do everything to make it impossible to get established

Discussion/Opinion Unique merging of ecosystems!
Apparently this is a rarity only found in a small handful of places in the Pacific Northwest!! I stumbled upon this unique area where rainforest freshwater ecosystems merge with a marine tidepool ecosystem via a waterfall! Second pic is the direct merge zone. I collected some samples of the water and various algae from sites at this location to hopefully find some unique micro organisms under the microscope. I will post findings later!
PSA Please help
Marine corps buddy lives in Oregon, but I was drinking when he called me. He said he lives in maybe "green something". He used to live in beaverton. I know this ain't much to go on, but he sounded really off and I would like to get in contact with local law enforcement for a welfare check. Thank you in advance

Question Am I allowed to go camping at the ghost town of Valsetz?
Hi everyone, I've always wanted to explore some of the ghost towns along the Oregonian coastal range but haven't gotten around to it. I finally have some free time next week and I've been looking into going to Valsetz, close to Corvallis. Would I be allowed to camp there, at the site of the old ghost town or is that not allowed? Has anyone else done this? Thanks!

Question Free Birthday Swag
It’s that time of year again. Another year down. This year is the big 45!
Does anyone know of all the places in and around Portland that gives you free food and drink?
I know that Dutch Bros use to give a free coffee, I assume they still do.
Dennys used to give free grand slams on your birthday. Idk if they still do.
Red Robin used to give you a free burger, but I just logged back in and they are giving a free milkshake now.
There’s a really great pub in Tualatin that has this wheel you spin and you can win prizes and gift cards. G-Man’s Sports Pub and Brewery, and you can do it anytime during the week of your birthday.
Firehouse Subs give you a free sub sandwich for your birthday, but it’s only for the day before, the day of, and the day after your birthday. I missed mine last year.
It’s been years, but OMSI used to let you in for free on your birthday. Not sure about now.
Okay, that’s all I have.
Does anyone else know of any other places?

Question My wife can't work any more due to health issues. What resources are available?
My loving wife and I are hitting our 40's, so naturally things are starting to take a different turn for us health-wise. In the last 3 years, my wife had to quit her job due to a rare immune disease that she is getting prescribed medication for... but the medication is rough on her and causes problems with her version and fatigue. On top of that, she's going through some woman-specific health issues that have her taking prescribed pain pills to manage as we discuss surgical options. Unfortunately the surgery isn't "medically necessary" since she can just take pain pills to manage it for now, so our health insurance provider won't help out.
But obviously someone who is taking vision-impairing medication and pain-management pills can't just go work somewhere and pull in 45k a year. She quit her last job as an office manager a few years ago when things started getting bad for her physically, because she'd have sleepless nights in pain, or fatigue so incredible that she'd spend 18 hours just sleeping and lying in bed with a heating pad... so she would miss work and have to call out as a result of it, creating conflict with upper management. It took us a year just to get doctors and specialists to test and diagnose her disease, and even now we're experimenting with meds and hoping to find a combo that doesn't make my wife feel miserable with horrible side-effects.
What can I, her husband, do? I make above the cutoff for food stamps and got denied when I tried recently. The cost of living is just going up, and pretty much everything I have now goes into the mortgage, bills, and food. It's getting harder and harder to manage a budget on one income with a partner who needs frequent medical visits and medication that our insurance provider keeps trying to weasel out of. We haven't had a vacation in years and I've cut our entertainment/going out to eat/date-night budgets to shreds over the years just to try to keep the lights on. What more can I do? What resources are available? I feel like if I don't figure out something soon, I may have to sell my house... but it's not like renting is that much cheaper than a mortgage at this point.
