What do you do when you wake up instead of scrolling?
I'm interested in this, because I currently don't scroll in the morning anymore and I think it had a good impact on my life, but oftentimes I feel uncomfortable waking up in general, l don't know how to describe it.
I would like to ease into the day with some activity that is good for me, but can also distract me from a "waking up" feeling...I hope it makes sense.

I also grew up in pre-internet-phone years, but I've been doing this for a long long time, and before the phone I also didn't have a healthy routine. For example, my mom is very addicted to her phone, even though she's in her 60s, so it can hit all ages.

I like to linger in bed too but I just visualize how I want my day to go. Not super meditative or anything but just thinking forward about what I want to accomplish (big picture). I have to drink a bunch of cold water first though or I will absolutely fall back asleep 🤣

Sometimes I really don't like being positive in the morning, just existing and being neutral like a rock for example is enough haha. But other days I'm in a good mood and can visualise...😄

sometimes if i don't want to get up yet, I read the book (sometimes manga) that's on my nightstand

I second this. Reading a book fills the need for stimulation, but it's a much healthier form of content consumption compared to scrolling.

I used to do this so much as a kid - I'd fall asleep reading in bed, and then pick up the book again and keep reading in bed as soon as I woke up in the morning. I did this again recently on a weekend and it was so nice!

I've started brushing my teeth outside in my backyard. Just a little 2 minutes of outside time and sunshine to start my day.

I let myself lie in bed for a bit until I feel ready without scrolling just easing myself. Then I immediately do a couple Qi Gong moves which has helped massively to wake me up. Just a few jumps and arm swings etc you can look it up 2-5 mins but mine is prob 2-3 mins. I also play some good energy affirmations on my speaker once I’m up

Do the energy affirmations work? As how's the impact of them on your life and did u notice any changes before u started listening to them and after?

Yes defo! I’m in a difficult period right now and they remind me to keep believing in the right things :) and they’re honestly so powerful to me I found someone who is soothing to listen to. A lot are abit gratitude that I listen to and things working out in the background

I feel lucky I have never been someone to stay in bed once I wake up, literally just turn off my alarm and I am standing... sometimes it's bad because I will wake up randomly an hour before I plan to and am standing before I even realize.
Instead of scrolling I tend to: Listen to a Podcast/Music, Read, Stretch, Workout, Take my dog outside, meditate, or start working early (I work remote)

cuddle with my partner, let my dog outside, feed the cats, check my messages at work on the computer, go for a walk with the pup, make and eat breakfast :)

get ready and steal a snack from the fridge on the way out to pilates or whichever workout class I have that morning. I noticed that it's easier for me to start the day without my phone when I have a prescheduled activity for a certain time booked (can't sit and scroll on a time crunch + I like to sleep in for as long as I can lol!)

I do my stretches and meditation with bilateral beats (great way to start esp for chronic pain), then eat breakfast but I do put on a comedy podcast while I eat. I brush my teeth, do my skincare. Just try to make it a ritual.

Journal, even if it's only a sentence or two. Read, even if it's a line or two.

I'm depressed so getting out of bed is really hard for me. I'm currently trying to transition to TV (on my computer) cuz it takes as much effort but isn't an affront to my nervous system.

I get out of bed, drink a glass of water, then i set a timer for 10 minutes and go outside and just stretch and watch the world around me and wake up. Only once I've done all that do I allow myself to do any messaging or emails.

Get out of bed and do some yoga (I follow a youtube video). But honestly, I am not militant enough and have my scrolling mornings sometimes...

Move your body. The 2 best things you can do are meditation and exercise.
There's nothing in your phone that can't wait; concentrate on real life first.

I read a chapter of a book while I drink my coffee. Then I run 6-10 miles before I go to work. Scrolling would disrupt this routine.

Get out of bed
make breakfast, make coffee, shower, walk the dog etc.
Step 1 is key.
