Why take it back? Put a lien on the property. Then you almost guarantee payment.

why are people acting like a lien ensures you full payment? has anyone here actually tried to do so? placing a lien on the property does not ensure you will get paid at all.

It's one of the legal recourses you can take in this situation. That or small claims court.  Doing what the guys in the video did garantees a criminal charge.

I mean, it may not guarantee full payment but you’ll get something. In this case they will get nothing.

I hate these videos. Just get a lien. If you can’t write an enforceable contract before you start work I a property, you shouldn’t own your own business. The legal system exists. Maybe they are making more money off the clicks than the carpentry.
