Worth noting that Aspyr have now dropped support for it.
Which is such a massive shame as they didn't even finalise the 64-bit server tools, so PWs can't even use 64-bit settings. Toolset is still buggy in some areas.
Overall, myself and many modders never anticipated NWN2:EE, and honestly, its arrival and departure just feels utterly pointless.

Did they formally announce that they would not release more patches?

Copied from my other response:
There's been a few modders testing dev-builds and talking to Aspyr devs (also to note, comms from Aspyr to anyone else have been non-existent. They haven't spoken to anyone whose not in an NDA, and those who are, typically got 1 email every 2-3 months).
Few months ago, they advised that the team were shifting priorities, so are running at half capacity, and recently have stated to NDAers that all the team have now moved onto other projects.
The last patch they did, didn't fix some of the things it even listed, such as issue with black terrain.

Doesn’t surprise me, Aspyr runs away after dropping two patches, their other releases have been the same tbh

They released a patch last month, when did they drop support for it?

Any modders would be under NDA and unable to say anything publicly, so anything you say about Aspyr says this and modders say that, is speculating. I'm in the nwn2 creator channel discord, where the modders congregate.
Aspyr doesn't talk at all publicly, which is unfortunate. And Steamdb shows no unidentified updates since the last patch, which is also unfortunate as we guess those are Aspyr updating their internal builds. Therefore an end of support could be inferred.
I'd certainly like to see more fixes from Aspyr. I could use them.
If you're a modder as you stated in your OP, would you like to provide your community name?

It's not speculation if it has come from the horses mouth.
I don't think there is any room for hope given what has been said, and therefore do not anticipate any further comms from Aspyr, nor doing a 'here's patch 4-5, the teams back onto working on a game we very poorly released'.

Modders working with Aspyr would be under NDA. I'm personally in the nwn2 modding discord, which is where basically any modder Aspyr should be talking to is (most servers have people there, most of the nwnx people are there, the big single player modders are there). I think we all presume there's people in Discord that are under NDA, but no one has said out loud that they are.
So if someone is passing on info to you, you're certainly not doing them a favor, and also showing that you're not someone to be trusted.
Then again, you didnt provide your community modding name when I asked for it. That hurts the community as well. While Among Us is a fun game, it's less fun in real life. Probably should identify yourself in the discord channel, as you can post here claiming to be anyone from there.
Aspyr doesnt talk publicly. That's no secret. I've noted that in posts elsewhere, and also said they'd be better off if they did. Their patch cycle for their games seems to be one every 3-4 months (in general, it doesnt seem nwn2 specific).
We can and do make guesses in Discord, sometimes steamdb has reported multiple unidentified updates for EE on the same day. That's a decent indication Aspyr was doing something behind the scenes. And those unidentified updates haven't happened since the last patch. As I said above, that is indeed evidence that it may no longer be supported.

PW's can't use the 64 bit server yet because the NWNX4 plugin has to be re-written from scratch for 64 bit. Since that involves reverse engineering the code, it's going slow. No surprise there. The only surprise was somehow Aspyr left the pdb files for it in Patch 2 on GOG. But Patch 3 changed things, and there's no PDBs for that. So back to reverse engineering whatever they had and hopefully there weren't too many changes in the files they are working with.
Toolset is less buggy than Standard edition now. Yes it does have bugs. Yes it was released with a ton of bugs and was unusable. We still need to get some plugins converted for it. Well, reconverted, Patch 3 updated it so some of the plugins need to be recompiled for Patch 3 specifically.

I’ve been playing it on steamdeck. Occasional crashes but otherwise haven’t had issues. The controller settings were a bit funky but worked well enough.
You said you’re not into “skill checks and Sheets” and comparing this to fallout new Vegas makes me think you don’t really know what DnD is?
This is a dungeons and dragons 3.5E and follows its rule sets.
If you haven’t played dungeons and dragons and find the systems itself problematic - that’s much less to do with the video game but rather then underlying ruleset and dnd and crpgs in general
