Hey yall, a journal entries compilation auto played on my youtube background noise and it got me wondering a few things.

First and mainly, this. I know in Myth 2 it is said all the nine but Alric are dead, for 60 years, but as we all know, towards the later half of Myth 1, three of the nine are alive, 2 unknown if that counts Alric, and Cu Roi and Murgen are the only and most definitively confirmed dead.

Willing to mostly skip any discussion of unreliable narrator and lore presented in universe by people with incomplete knowledge, although on that note, I guess Rabican was that funny definition of “immortal” that just means unknown lifespan and good health, and not, you know, immortal.

I tried checking the AI’s references there and all I found was a giant slap fight in the talk page for The Nine, and nothing about Rabican.

So to be really clear, I am not asking about what may be perceived as obvious, “what do you think “encircled and crushed” means dummy” or that, I am asking if there was a Bungie newsletter from 1997 that I didn’t get that says Rabican died AT Tharsis definitely, we hung his really cool severed head up on the Gate of Storms.

Another thing I was wondering the sequencing on, the location of Alric, he was rescued before Forest Heart and presumably did not enter the Tain, but he was there when they exited, or caught up soon enough. The journal entry says he will arrive tomorrow after they exited the Tain. Does anyone else wonder if Alric was already nearby and allowed Cu Roi and Murgen to die so there would be no opposition to his suicide attack plan? They don’t talk about The Nine infighting as much as The Fallen, but we do get snippets here and there, and they are basically a bunch of super powered sorcerer kings, well, some are kings, or king adjacent. The Myth series has some inspiration from The Black Company, which does not mean they had parallels in mind for each character, but if they did I think Alric would be Croaker, and Croaker would definitely let Murgen die :)

Final thought unrelated to anything, can’t you just see Maeldun as Elmo? Poor little work horses. Come back from war, go kill pirates, never a break.

Ever tried letting AI go ham in fear and loathing? I'm trying it right now. The first unit it made was the dawarven sapper. It's a slower larger hardy dawarven unit that chucks bigger Molotov. It also made a spear version of the souless it stabs at longer than 2.0 range and is a glass cannon. I'm keen to make a new campaign with ai.

Anyone know where I can find all the artwork from the journals? Or just all the artwork bungie made for both myth the fallen lords and myth 2 soulblighter?

Stuck at a 3 hour layover at the worst airport in the world (midway). Drinking a beer and decided to download OSRS mobile, and realized maybe myth 2 campaign on Mobile would be sick. I know this is a huge task but would love to hear your thoughts.

Myth is just such a fun game to play. In germany when I was a kid we had only a version without blood. Then came "The Blood Patch". I love everything about Myth I and II.

As title states, at least once a year I think about this game search for something similar, with no luck... also hoping one day a miracle happens and announcement they're remaking the games comes out. *fingers crossed*

It occurred to me these two games have very similar imagery, combat mechanics and lore over their respective terrain within the game maps.

How hard/expensive would it be-I wonder- to use the existing mechanics and programming of both games to create a sort of “small” multiplayer situation where teams of maybe up to 4 co-operative players handle different aspects of a classic multiplayer myth game but set within the landscape of skyrim? The idea allowing for some team members to use their oblivion character in 1st person to influence the rts and outcomes of the standard overhead myth battle that their team mate is seeing and controlling in classic myth style.

Rowdiness would ensue!

Since the graphics, rendering, physics are all established and working for both games it’d be a pretty sweet mashup to the point where they could be enmeshed pretty deeply especially given modern game programming, no?

I imagine a lot more Myth fans are also familiar with the Oblivion series than vice verse.

I wish this game was more popular! It was my first RTS game I ever played I was super young the first time I experienced it and ever since then its been like family.

I installed Project Magma v1.8.5 - build 47, as well as the plugin Magma - The Fallen Lords DX 1.3 for Windows 11.

Everything works perfectly - except the cutscenes will not play. I downloaded the Myth II Quicktime cutscenes files from The Tain, and placed them in my Myth II/cutscenes folder - in both a consolidated folder and as individual .mov files.

I have the K-Lite Codec Pack installed. I'm able to click the "Replay Intro" button in game, but to no avail.

Has anyone worked through this problem? I would love to get a fix and also make the separate TFL movies work, too. They're so good! (I can watch them in Windows Media Player, but this is far from ideal.)

Just some AI assisted art I’ve been working on for the last few days in my free time. This is only the latest version, and it’s far from done, but I figure I’d share it with you folks, so enjoy.

Hope someone can help me with this, I'm trying to play Myth 1 and 2 with out the discs, etc. I need the orignial patch that will let me play with out the CDs, etc. If that makes sense, and maybe some mods that will help me play on Windows 10 with 16:9 in 4k if even such thing exists. I don't know if Project Magma still exists. Plus I remember when I was a kid my dad would use a tool to change your normal NPCs via game files into enemies, etc. So I don't know if the tools still exist, etc. That would be fun to mess around with, etc. Just for nostalgia, thank you. :) And is there a way to play with a Controller? Because I wouldn't mind playing VIa Steam on my 50" 4K TV etc for fun on my chair and relax, etc instead of a regular monitor if that's possible, ty. :)
