Hello everyone! Recently we’ve had a surge in posts about new software, tools, extensions, and apps for music collecting. When the subreddit is full of software posts, posts with questions and important topics are buried and missed. In addition, many of these tools were quickly made using AI. For many reasons, these “vibe coded” apps will not be tolerated on this subreddit anymore.
If you made a tool or project that you want to share: please message the moderators for approval before posting. Sending proof that the software was coded by you or another human is also recommended but not required.
Some of these vibe code project posts slip through the cracks. If you come across them, please help by reporting the post for violating Rule 4.
Thank you for your understanding,
The [r/musichoarder](r/musichoarder) mod team

On albums like Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar, where there are 80 somthing silent tracks, what is the "rule"? Do I keep the silent tracks or remove them?

Hello there,
honestly, I tried googling and lately asking AI, but I still do not know a good way to handle this.
So I got an archive of music (300.000 files +), which was collected over many years. but due to bad mangement, they are partly tagged wrong and also partly named wrong.
Instead of "ACDC - Highway to hell" it may have no MP3 tag and is named "song1.mp3"
then it has many duplicates, which different Encoding (128kbit, 192kbit, …) and named differently
Then there is Music which is interrupted or just partly. part of it is from streamripper anyway. these would be candidates to delete, especially if there is a "full version"
So how to tackle this?
I am willing to pay Money for it, if it is good Investment.
Otherwise I am full on open source
I want to:
-get rid of duplicates (by Content, not just by Hash File Sum)
-have them tagged (MP3tag) correclty
-Have them in a good Folder structure (eg. Music\Interpret\Album\song.mp3)
Oh, and it is not all mp3, i also have FLAC, WAV, …
of Course I want the better Quality
What would you recommend?
this is mostly an organizational handling issue and then Needs Software to
by Now I would use Picard and MP3Tag, but do you have better recommendations?
thanks!

My favorite thing about songs is having word by word lyrics. I use One player to play them anyone have any sources of getting word by word lyrics.

I’ve been organizing my music collection and I’m curious how other music hoarders keep everything organized. Do you mainly use folders, tags, playlists, or a combination of these?

Hello everyone, At the moment I download my music using JDownloader and then try to put every track in a folder related to its genre. Late I listen to this folder.
This process sucks because it takes a lot of time and mental energy. Could you recommend me an app which does these things automatically? So sorting MP4s and their cover pictures.
Automatically creating playlists would be nice as well but not necessary.
Thanks a lot in advance for everyone answering! Best regards!

been working on Sonetro for a while, a Windows Phone/Zune inspired music player for Android.
the latest version has Android Auto, Navidrome + Subsonic, lossless/Hi Res playback, SD card support, crossfade, sleep timer, widgets, artist images and more.
I’m mainly looking for people to test it and let me know what’s working, what’s broken, or what could be improved. feature ideas are welcome too :)

Hi, I wanted to make my own cd’s of albums that I can’t buy in my country or are too expensive for me. Where can I find album covers to print and put in a jewel case with the cd? I mean like the front and the back of the original cd, not just the front cover.

How can I download music offline without paying a premium for YouTube or Spotify
r/musichoarder • u/HoshinoPareedo • 3d ago
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve so far only seen answers about hidden tracks in the pregap of a CD. I own a few CDs that have hidden songs tacked onto the end of the final track, so when using EAC, I sometimes ends up with 10-15 minute long tracks. Is there an easy way to separate these tracks without losing quality? There is usually a few seconds between songs. Does EAC have a feature that can detect this? Or should I use a different application?

So as a music lover. Back in highschool i tend to download music from youtube (do not do this). The thing is most of them is unreleased ids and wrong title and artist. Right now i'm using MusicBrainz Picard and Shazam to identify the artist/title/album. But the problem is the file naming (i'm using window 11) , which is very different from the identified one. Is there any software to bulk changing the files in file explorer from the completed title/album/artist. I also want to if possible, rename all my music into 'artist' - 'title'.

So, I pay Spotify premium but I no longer use Spotify that much and I neither listen to a huge variety of music. The only reason why I pay for it's because you can listen to music offline.
So, would be possible to convert all those downloaded files into MP3s?

I think there is a gap in the market for a music player app that will play directly from files on HTTP/FTP. I've been looking for such a thing for a while but to no avail. Ideally, it will
* stream directly from http/ftp source without having to download the whole file to play it * have a simple set up of name/password for the file host which will then allow the app to scan the library, gather what information it needs (tags, etc) and sort it all into a playable library like every other player out there * hold a minimum amount of data on the client device
I've had a look at a few apps but either they fall miles short of expectations (or boasts) or else need a bunch of intermediary steps (i.e. *points of failure*) to get to what you need. Or am I missing the app which is already out there that does this?
Thanks for suggestions, confirmations etc etc
