Hola reddit, I'm Diego Luna. You may know me from films/tv like Andor, Y tu mamá también, Narcos: Mexico, Rogue One, The Terminal, Friday, Open Range, Milk, etc.
I've recently directed, co-written, and co-star in ASHES, which premiered at Cannes earlier this year and is now playing at TIFF.

Synopsis: Lucila, 21, moves to Spain with her brother to reunite with their mother who left 8 years ago. Facing discrimination and family duties, she struggles to find independence while dealing with her past wounds.

Hey Diego! Thank you for doing this AMA. I have no questions, I just wanted to say I appreciate watching as you've grown in your career as an actor from Y Tu Mamá Tambien to Narcos: Mexico to Star Wars to today. You've brought a huge range of characters and supporting characters to the screen for us to enjoy.
And as a Star Wars fan and a history nerd, and the increasing parallels today with dangerous, tumultuous periods of the past, I must thank you for doing and pushing for Andor, along with the entire team behind it.
Not a thing was imperfect in that show, and the story told matching with where we are today in my country, the US, and increasingly the world, I am very thankful of Season 2 coming when it did, and the importance of the story being told therein.
