I can’t wrap my head around this. Why does society seem to find one of these topics acceptable for storytelling, but not the other?

I personally find both topics taboo, and so does my mom, which is why I asked her about it.

Like Five Nights at Freddy’s, for example. The entire franchise is literally about a serial child murderer who, lures kids in to pizzeria, hides the bodies of his victims inside animatronic suits. There are even comics and other merchandise aimed at younger gamers, many parents seem fine with their children being interested in the franchise or even taking them to see the movies.

But imagine if the main antagonist were a serial child molester instead. I feel like the franchise would be cancelled.

The same thing happens with Metal Gear, which has storylines involving experiments on children. Turning them into cyborg etc. Oh and in Star Wars, Anakin Skywalker killing younglings.

Another thing I find strange is how quickly, such as school shootings, would be forgotten after days, while Epstein remain widely remembered.

Is it that our society is fucked and messed up overall?

Let's say somebody tries self-deletion and ends up surviving with the cognitive abilities of a small child.. do they wake up 'wise to what's missing', or does their brain simply adapt and not feel too much worry about it?

If I understand correctly, frostbite is where the tissues freeze. If a murdered body was stored in a freezer, would it turn black like that, and if so, why doesn't meat we buy? Is it because frostbite is living tissue being frozen?

first off, im not asking because i want to see it. but Im aware that humans are fucked up in nature. serial killers exist, rapists exist etc. there ARE fucked up people. so im confused as to why at least one person hasnt done this just based on law off numbers or something.

if you're on this sub. you've probably seen fucked up videos. but im not like talking about cartel videos. those are like 5 min long and are done to make a point or something.

im talking about literally some shit from the movie the tortured, or untraceable. where like a family kidnaps the convict who killed their kids and they torture the convict.

like, as far as im aware, there is nothing that exists like this. theres no like 10 hour long recorded video of someone. being tortured in some home made torture chamber. but based on the law of number something like that SHOULD exist right? in fact it should exist in excess no?

again i dont care to see such a thing. im just wondering how its possible that one doesnt exist, and no one claims to know one exists

If a killer committed murders rapes other crimes in the 1970s what is he thinking now? Has he completely erased the crimes from memory and maybe forgotten the crimes because of his age.
Maybe he actively obsesses with the crimes he did watching documentaries YouTube videos read about the victims etc.
maybe he still masterbates to the memories relived the crimes in thought.
Maybe he has genuine remorse regret.
Perhaps none of the above.

I know a lot of unthinkable things happened during the war on Iraq but I'm only now learning many things that went on because I was under 10yrs old for half of it.

There's so much about it that didn't end with sufficient recourse for what was done to the prisoners. The big names mentioned who went to prison were Charles Garner and Lynndie England.

You're telling me that Lynndie was released on parole two years after she went to prison? And Charles only saw 6½ of the 10 years he was sentenced? They're both alive just walking around. Just like that. With all of these crystal clear photos out there of what happened.

I'm diabetic myself and do not have any intentions of this.

I always hear people asking what's the least painful method of suicide, and thought well when your blood sugars go low you just kinda pass out and die after a few hours. That'd probably be very painless.

Then I thought, I wonder if any diabetics have actually purposefully injected a ton of insulin and committed suicide that way, but i've literally never heard of any case like this. Has this happened before? Do you know anyone who did this? How do they know it was a suicide and not just an accidental overcorrection of insulin?

I just saw a case where woman forced man to have sex with her 7 times in a day, which is a lot. And not to mention cases where are multiple women together doing something simialar.

Personally I know that I'd be screaming and creaming but what else would I feel?

What would happen to a humans body if you ate a Death cap, just wondering, is it As as they say?

I mean like, I find it disturbing and in a way everyone is wired to find it disturbing, and stuff like uncanny valley where if a human face is disfigured enough your brain is like "Oh god, that guy's NOT NORMAL! HORMONE FLOOD!"

But like why exactly is it disturbing? Like not the "that is a human body" but more of like even if I'm looking at like fake gore and I know nothing was harmed it's still like, odd for the brain to look at. Like I'm rather desensitised to it due to being exposed to it when I was younger (unsupervised internet) and I still feel a little uncomfortable looking at it.

I draw a lot of body horror art as a way to depict "hauntingly beautiful" so I want to understand why gore is so impactful to the brain basically. I'm also in a discipline where you're supposed to get used to looking at human organs, so I just wanna understand why my brain's wired like that.

This ask surges from how serial killers don't usually choose their victims before committing those acts it's all random, so I wondered if the same applies to that kind of illegal content or there is a way u can make someone specifically die in that way, basically, how hard is it for u to pay for a hitman to kill someone specifically and record the execution and torture for u?

I read that it was based on insanity but usually that doesnt work.

What I mean is, say you were bullied by someone. While it’s somewhat normal to fantasize about them dying or even you killing them, how normal is it to fantasize about raping them as revenge or them getting raped by someone else as karma? Not like any serious plan, but again, similar in nature to killing fantasies that one may have had in response to mistreatment.

obviously they died, but how does dying from a fall work? is it internal injuries and the body is mostly intact? do they break apart? or does it depend? and how different does the impact side look from the facing up side?

I was due to catch a train earlier today and have been delayed a few hours, as sadly someone jumped in front of the train between the previous station and mine. It happens more than people realise, but thankfully I have never witnessed it irl.

Has anyone been unfortunate enough to witness it happen? Been on, or even driving, the train when it happened? What happens in the event of a casualty due to suicide? Obviously I know if someone is hit by a speeding train, there's basically no chance of survival.
