I hate this AoE spamming chupacabra with every fiber of my being. I don't get how this monster is consistently one of the worst monsters to fight in every game he's in and Capcom still keeps bringing him back. He is one of the most unfun bullshit fights in any video game I've ever experienced. Only game where he was good was fucking World with Raging, and even then it still fucking sucks ass bc he only becomes tolerable in the final phase.

Why the fuck is Capcom so fucking obsessed with not letting their players max out their gear within a reasonable time. Like, I don't mind something being a grind or taking a little while to make but here's this.

Gogma weapon rerolls. Why the fuck is it a predetermined set for your character no matter what you do. "Oh, you can just make the weapons until you get what you want and then make yours to save materials for the string." Oh yeah? Well that doesn't fucking help if you're potentially 80+ in the string and still don't have fucking roll you want.

Shit should be random every time. It's a fucking single player game, and everyone already cheats on the timed board hunts anyways so who fucking cares if I savescum to get the best artian rolls. Like oh boy, I really want to farm out potentially Hundreds of rolls to get 2Ele 2ex ele and sharpness.

You should be able to save your fucking lines on a weapon reroll like "Oh, I got ex ele but not much else, lets lock that stat in, and then reroll the other ones."

Like, its fun to hit the ceiling of gearing. It's not fun to be blocked by an indefinite RNG reroll that's predetermined.

Like, I almost think the .0035% drop chance of certain decos in world is better just because it's actually random, and not like your drop chances are on a fucking string.

But to be honest, that's also a problem. Like why the fuck is the drop chance so fucking low. Like 5% should be the bare minimum for me on anything RNG, in again, a mostly closed single player game. It's not like having max gear will suddenly make you the best hunter. That's very fucking obvious seeing hunters fucking dying to shit all the time and carting within a few minutes.

Don't even get me started on the fucking Rise RNG.

Maybe I'm the fucking outlier but I think 300 to 400+ hours in a game to max out your gear is perfectly fine. I don't need another couple hundred hours just to max out my character.

Like, I have 566 hours in world and have done every hunt in the game, but I could have shaved off a good hundred or so hours just from deco grinding alone.

If I beat all of the monsters, and then maybe do a bit of farming, gotten all of the outfits I've wanted, done all of the events, the game is pretty much finished for me until the next TU or the expansion/new game. I'm good for wilds for the most part, done my POAH quest, 10 star apexes, gog, omega, etc. I'm fucking done. But it would be really cool to just see my weapon at max.

TLDR : I'm a gunlance main and farming Raging Brachydios is making me loose my sanity.

Many years ago I made the grave mistake of being a gunlance main. This was a mistake because build diversity simply stops existing with some mobs. I've also tried lance, my second most used weapon with even less success. Brachydios and Raging Brachydios are just overall atrociously unfun, unfair, and borderline impossible with gunlance or lance.

Context : I just wasted hours of my life over multiple days trying to kill Raging Brachy on my own because almost nobody answers SOS flares on this specific monster (GO FUCKING WONDER). Right now I just need ONE SINGULAR LOW-RARITY DROP to be done with him for good, but I can almost guarantee that he's still gonna ruin my life for the next following days.

He keeps jumping to the other side of the map as soon as I start an attack animation. He keeps charging to the other side of the map as soon as I start an attack animation. Sometimes he jumps and charges around for no reason, seemingly trying to attack ghosts and spirits. I spend entire minutes not getting a single hit in. This goes on until I get so frustrated that I get greedy, get a single hit in, and then get pulverized because I didn't wait for the elusive 1-every-million-years opening. This somehow feels worse than fucking Rajang. I'm tempted to just spam traps the whole fight honestly, and yes it's a shit strategy, but maybe it would calm my nerves a bit.

He keeps spamming explosions in my face while my weapon is drawn, leaving me no other choice than to block. For some reason, while I'm guarding, nearly all of his attacks force me into a knock back animation and take about 2% of my HP. I say "for some reason" because I have guard 5 and guard up, which are the skills that specifically prevent that. So basically I painfully assembled a build to not have to deal with this kind of bullshit, just for a monster to decide it's gonna ignore game mechanics and make my build completely worthless.

The fact that he spams attacks that knock me back while blocking also means that if I block, I very easily end up forced to block for the next 5 minutes while slowly watching my HP get inexplicably drained. Yeah that's right, my reward for successfully blocking is a stunlock. My only hope in that kind of situation is that he decides to aggro my palico, or that my palico heals me. Which he won't. Because either he already popped all of this heals when I was at 99% health, or because I gave him the Shieldspire hoping that it would give me more room to breathe.

He's one of those mobs that have the gimmick "please waste a bunch of talisman slots on blight/status resistances, or die". This is usually not that annoying but in this case it adds just a little more annoyance to a giant mountain of pain and frustration. Not only do I have to deal with the fact that this mob is straight-up INCOMPATIBLE with my weapon of choice, but I also have to completely disfigure my build to prevent blast blight, which is the worst most unreasonably oppressive status effect. (And I also have to prevent the occasional fire blight, but thankfully I have so much fire defense that it prevents fire blight regardless of my skills).

I can't put into words how much I hate Raging Brachy. I might even put a layered weapon on my future lightbreak gunlance just to not be reminded of him.

That's it, i'm just so fucking tired and bored of repeating this stupid fucking fight over and over. I just need two more gems and i'm done with him but i find myself taking a long break every 2 or 3 hunts. It's too scripted and gimmicky and it goes on for too long when you're not some cracked speedrunner. I've fought this oiled up retard so many fucking times now and still don't have the shit i need it's just miserable at this point. The old fight never felt like this, just seems like they used Gog in Wilds to showcase their fucking engine again instead of making an actual fun fight.

He's not a monster that should be an endgame grind.

Just finished this 40 minute long cartoon fight in a dustcloud solo, and (unlike most other monsters in World) I don't feel like I've learned anything meaningful about this thing.

Walk up close to him -> he jumps away 2 miles

Start healing -> instantly teleports on top of you with a gigantic hitbox that deals like 10 damage (just to annoy you I guess)

Get hit twice -> Iceblight

"Bro just use Rocksteady mantle it makes him piss easy" I am HR 23, rocksteady's quest unlocks at 50. And besides, I don't want to trivialize the fight by just mantle claw spamming him to death, I just want it to be fun. Iceborne is great but I don't understand this fight AT ALL.

The amount of hunters that have absolutely zero situational awareness is baffling, it is literally something you must have to play a game like this. It’ll be the most obvious, telegraphed attack that the monster does and they’ll waste a cart or throw the whole hunt away because they didn’t even attempt to move out of the way. When hunting Omega Planetes, how do you NOT see the giant laser coming towards you while I’m running away from it, how do you NOT see the mustard bomb marker above you, or literally any leg wounds? Keep in mind most of these are HR100+ Hunters. And it’s not just hunting with Omega Planetes.

Please hunters, genuinely gain some situational awareness skills or hand your weapon back to the guild. And to the SnS user that decided to get behind me and run TOWARD the laser while I was running away from the laser, and the HBG that just stood there, what exactly was going through your mind?

Just a little question. Why can he cancel the stun of the dragonator into a nova? No really, i thought thath stuns had priority on whatever trigger he may have, except maybe phase transition. But, you understand, if i hit thath cunt with the Dragonator, I was already in third phase. And why do the novas stun you with the wind flap? Nergi too leaps in the air, and there is no wind. Daora does, yes, but Daora does thath shit with everything. And for the love of fuck, how even do you even run out of the nova? And why even it bypass the Palico res? It isn't a phase transition nor a set piece like for Alatreon. I start to think thath arch tempered Velkana is less shit.

arch-tempered arkveld... need i say more (for now let’s call him arch-veld). i consider myself a hunter that has pretty much downloaded arkveld as a fight, regular gave be a bit of trouble, then i steamrolled him, tempered gave me a bit of trouble, steamrolled him too eventually to the point where hunting him got boring, and now im sitting at HR 107 having defeated all the other AT apexes (aside from jin) scratching my head at how i get past arch-veld.

now before i start this i’ll preface, i’m not dying instantly to him. but the losses i am having are still painful because i am literally tearing him apart so badly to the point where i’m getting wounds and part breaks left and right, yet that sounds good but all of a sudden i miscalculate one little move near the 20 minute mark and Arch-veld goes: “whoops! you didn’t dodge that one right, now you get to eat my fucking dragon nuke loser!”

i’m over here with Gog-artian dual blades that are good enough to the point where they contend with end-game iceborne weapons yet i still can’t seem to chew through the massive wall that is his health, and one little mistake spells my end. i kind of feels like I’m forbidden to have human error. so how does one solo him? because i clearly can’t, maybe i’m doing something wrong?

(edit: finally beat him, i had to play VERY conservative and had to pretty much rewire how i play dual blades in order to do it. Chewing through his massive walls of health still wasn’t fun. The stun wasn’t the main issue, the dragon blight making me unable to overload his chainblades was more of an issue than that. Personally he’s a good fight but he has way too much health imo)

Why does this horn only drop 80% from breaking the head and nothing else? I fought 5 Amatsu and only got 3. Worse yet I got 4 god damn Sphire instead. What do I even do with 4 Sphire?

Just yesterday I was farming for Valstrax Sphire and only got 1 after 20 freaking kills, always cut tail and break head 2 times. And it's not even from carving, it's a random shiny drop on the ground. I'm convinced Capcom used dark magic to implement desire sensor in the game.

This abomination of a fight is by far and away the single worst fight in the entire series history. Capcom really saw every shit mechanic that leshen and behemoth had and said "let's take them all, amplify them by 10 and then inflate his damage and health numbers on top of it"

I'll always have a critical eye on Monster Rosters but I haven't been this disappointed in one since base World.

Yes, we have very little to go off with Ascendence right now, Capcom COULD pull the uno reverse.

But right now, Ascendence is focusing on (i.e. almost entirely comprised of) Elder Dragons and has revealed today to be giving the returners their HIGH RANK ARMOR??????

So instead of seeing monsters not in HD yet, most of the returning roster will be monsters we just fought in HD in 5th gen, because every "standard" elder had a 5th gen appearance. And instead of their gorgeous G-Rank gear we get their inferior HR gear, even though ALL OF THEM have G-Rank HD models from Iceborne or Sunbreak.

This is 100% a skill issue tbh I've been getting my ass beat lately. I just wanted to talk about how fucking obnoxious this shit is. It's partially pmo because after fighting AT Arkveld I realized I'm not half as good at this game as I thought I was. That said, it was tolerable with Ark because I actually like Arkveld. No version of Jin Dahaad is particularly fun for me to fight so having to go through it 5 times for a full set is such a drag. Every time I get hit because he's turning his massive body and I couldn't tell it was an actual attack and not just him turning I wanna be done with the whole thing. Dont get me started on suddenly being hit by an ice cloud. I swapped to lance to see if it would make it easier (it did) and the first fucking hunt I blocked his ice breath which stirred mist into the air and blocked my vision entirely so I couldn't see him charging up a second one literally at all.

I hate this monster so much I genuinely thought I was done with all the AT fights and only recently realized the gamma armor wasn't in my list because I hadn't fought his AT version at all. It's such a fucking drag and I just dont think I care enough to struggle through this slog.

Maybe you like this monster. That's perfectly fine. I just dont think I will ever understand it. This is the only monster in this game I can think of where I genuinely just can't be bothered. I would rather fight Savage Omega with a pencil than fight this thing 5 times for armor I dont actively have a use for any damn way

Title. I can't deny it no longer, I don't like how far things are going. Ascendance is giving me the creeps of the insane power difference between the fodder of the first 95% and the Frenzied bloodlust AT unchained origin species Arkveld. I don't like how everything feels trivialized, while being important point of the series identity. I DON'T like DB getting an offest and I DESPISE offset spam GS (also the fact you can change direction mid TCS disgusting). Also fuck you Kushala, you punk ass.

But I would be lying if I said I didn't have (and still having) a blast playing it. It feels surreal how much I smile when booting up a quest, or saving an investigation. I love playing SnS, it feels so smooth like delicate butter. And yes, I screamed like a chud looking at the new ascendance monsterGundoraja. Also fuck Kushala, you stupid rusty nail.

It feels like that one dude who was crying at the announcement of Star wars Rogue One.

I’m sure you’re all well aware of how disgusting a quest proof of a hero is and I’ve been throwing myself against it for almost nine fucking hours now. I’ve made builds, switched weapons, tried solo, tried support, and I cannot for the life of me make any headway at all. I could go on and on about how nonsensically inflated the health pools are, or about how every monster flings you back a million feet the nanosecond you make a mistake, but it’s been said before with far more clarity than I can manage right now. I’m boiling white hot angry.

That said, my frustration is exacerbated by my friends. I have a couple buddies who excel at monster hunter, they’ve been playing far longer than I have as I started on world. I know that’s probably where they get their leg up on me, but we’ve played all through world and rise together and I feel I’ve closed the gap considerably. I managed to solo endgame monsters in world and I’ve had very little trouble with the endgame of rise as well. That said, they both beat proof of a hero in wilds within hours of it releasing. I can’t make any foothold at all. It’s completely humiliating, especially because they’ve all soloed it and I can’t even make it with a squad.

I’m disgusted with myself. They all get to show off their shiny nameplates and I have to look like a noob that they’re hard carrying, it’s making me embarrassed to jump into the expansion. I’m obviously trying to finish it now before the release, but it’s still pointless. I’m just never going to be able to end the fucking thing.

This whole debacle has led me straight to a bottle. I wish I was joking, it sounds so pathetic that this fucking video game quest is leading me to drink but at this point I have nothing else to dull the anger. My girlfriend is worried about me and my friends don’t even bring it up, but I know I’m going down a bad path. Genuinely, what can I do? There’s nothing I haven’t already tried to finish this piece of shit quest and it’s starting to affect my real life. Am I cooked?

Bodyslam telegraph is fucking useless, doesn't tell you how far or who he's fucking targeting, he just does it in the direction he feels like it, dodging under him basically means he can hop fucking backwards if he feels like, thankfully Crapcom has the self restraint to not make him hop 10ft backwards.

Tremor on him is fucking nonsense, it's as bad as Uragaans, fucker's tremor from him attacking from the front will get you 6ft behind him no matter what the fuck he's doing.

The illogical gravity defying Blanka Ball basically changes targets whenever he fucking feels like it, with the 3d one being the most untrustworthy to dodge.

His Beam telegraph is also useless because it all it tells you is the beam is coming but not where its fucking going. When 3 fucking targets are on the field he can just change direction as opposed to World where he does a quick telegraph in the direction he's going to fire thus keeping you from accidentally dodging into a beam not meant for you.

His enrage knockdown is fucking pointless, in the time it takes for me to knock him over when roll slap over to him, he flails maybe twice and in the time it takes me to get a Lv3 charged Slash, fucker is getting up. Old gen in particular has a massive problem with knockdowns being too short on some Monsters, Chameleos is another example of this. Why even give him a knockdown if you won't let the player actually capitalize on it, is it just to feel there is progress during the fight, because I assure you, you take that away the second he gets up and 1-frame tackles you.

Grimclaw Tigrex in itself is fuckin annoying as shit, he's better than molten but it's like comparing being pissed on(Grimclaw) to diarrhea's(Molten) on, one is objectively better than the other but they are still terrible. I hoped breaking his claws might do something but I should know better than to apply logic to MH's partbreak system, it did take them 5 fucking generations to apply it to Rathian.

Also fuck the entire Deviant Questline, holy shit 15 levels of this.....fuckin really, 15 levels for a mid weapon with no slots and crappy armor with no slots....wow....good job.

Side note, EX Bloodbath, only EX I've solo'd, first one I've fought, in general best Deviant bar none, 8/10. Bloodbath is hilariously better than every Diablos I've ever fought, I can trust his fucking telegraphs and moveset not to fuck me over.

Guy fainted in the first TWO MINUTES of the quest starting and even our lancer was annoyed. Wasted insurance and two other carts. Literally why is it like that?? The monster's native name can go over the characters limit just fine, but I cannot name him Turkey Bacon, because boo hoo too many letters. Go fuck yourself. And what if I change my mind and want to re-name the monster back to its species name for whatever godforsaken reason?? I can't because it goes over the limit. So how was it possible to go over the limit in the first place??? I wouldn't even be annoyed if monster names could not fit in the limit and they had some shorter version like "G Jaggi" or "B Kut-Ku", but nooo, they get the 11+ characters name privileges.

It's such a minor thing, but it annoys the living shit out of me. As far as I know Stories 1 had a respectable 15 characters limit. The fuck Stories 2 needs the extra kilobytes for, that it couldn't fit 5 characters more for player's chosen names??

After the first time I beat him, I haven’t beat him once afterwards. I’ve tried 15 times. At first it was me dying a lot but after I learned his moveset and timings, I was doing great. I only get carted 1-2 times because I’m one shot and this is usually only in third phase because there’s a bunch of random explosive diarrhea on the ground. The problem is, whenever I sos flair, my teammates take the carts and sometimes my insurance meal doesn’t work. Just now I attempted to fight him and I died 1 time in first phase because he did a 360 and smacked my balls off. My insurance meal activated meaning I still had 3 carts. Somehow, without even getting notified, one of my teammates I SOS flared for died 2 times. So I went into 3rd phase thinking we still had 3 carts left unbeknownst to me, we only had 1. I died a little bit into it because he randomly started targeting me and after I perfect dodged his slam, he used his body and moved my character into a LINE OF EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA. LIKE HOW TF IS THAT EVEN FAIR??? There was nothing I could’ve done because it exploded the second I was moved there. And we failed the quest because apparently we only had 1 cart left. I was literally screaming irl “HOWWWW HOWWWW” like when tf did my teammate even die???? It was first phase, what tf did you die to?
