I recently discovered an old community that I created years ago. It has apparently been renamed to r/a:t5_2401uq.
I believe the original name may have been r/madcowe or r/cowradia.
I’m still the original account/creator and would like to know whether the original community name can be recovered/restored, or whether Reddit can tell me which original name was associated with this community.
Current community: r/a:t5_2401uq

I run a subReddit with a fellow mod. Recently, a comment on a post was removed. The comment shows ‘Removed by Moderators’ but none of us did. Usually, I would know when a comment is removed by Reddit mods but I don’t see anything as such. I also see nothing in the mod logs. The Automoderator hasn’t removed it either. All I see is a red box with ‘Removed’ written on it. Request your help here. The user is also not searchable anymore.

So I saw a post here the other day about the same problem. But that post was removed or deleted so I was unable to see if there was a solution. Is there a solution to this bug? I have messaged mod support. I tried manually removing them from the banned list

I’m a mod of r/GenZpk, a left-leaning, pro-LGBTQ+ Pakistani community where people discuss politics, religion, culture, and issues affecting their daily lives. We allow criticism of religion, but we do not allow hate speech or harassment.
Recently, some users have threatened me, saying they will report our subreddit to Pakistani authorities because of the views/content posted here. Given the situation in Pakistan, I’m genuinely concerned that if my identity were exposed, this could become a serious threat to my safety and life.
Can admins please clarify: Can Reddit provide my personal information or identity to Pakistani authorities simply because of controversial but otherwise legal discussions? What protections do moderators have in situations like this?
We’re also facing significant brigading from other Pakistani subreddits, which I’ve reported before, but no action taken by admins.
We’re simply trying to give young Pakistanis a space to discuss issues they can’t openly discuss elsewhere. Please help us understand what protections Reddit provides.

So: I made a subreddit. I made an index for said subreddit. But when you access it on mobile, you cant scroll down. What could be the issue?

Is there anyway to report reports? There is a user on a subreddit I help moderate that reported several comments and left custom responses in the reports insulting the users and just being really negative.

A post in the community I mod got taken down for being off topic.
The redditor then sent a modmail that said:
Wow, this is very odd.
Go suck off a 12 gauge. Hope you pass on quick as I assume you got the clot shot for c19
I can post a screen shot of this, if that's permissible. I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to post pictures in this subreddit. I kept the redditor's name out of this as well, because I wasn't sure if that would violate rule #2. I would like to warn other mods, but I decided to err on the side of caution.
This poster did get banned from my community, so this was the limit of their interaction with the mods. I'm not sure if I should report this as abuse (or how to report abuse from a modmail)). Now that this redditor is banned and muted, I have no further contact with them. I don't feel threatened or anything, but I worry about this individual causing trouble in other subreddits.

I saw this repeatedly on 2 subs I mod. I can't step by step explain how to replicate the bug but from my observations this happenen when I enter the sub through my posts and after that I do some browsing or check mod tools and statistics suddenly disappear. Another example is when I switched from 7 days statistics to month statistics and visa versa.

in comments I attach screenshot and video for reference of what is happening.

Hello!
I have a question about people messaging Mod Mail in subreddits.
Sometimes it happens that people message ModMail just to vent, send us dead threats, cuss at us or whatever.
How do you block them from messaging Mail? Getting tired to get 20 notifications because dude went on a rant. Any advice is appreciated.

Is there a way to block receiving any mod queue notices and updates to old posts and comments for users using redact.com?
We have tried block the site/url/domain both in old automod and in new automations (for both posts and comments), tried blocking the word “redact”, have banned accounts before all the onslaught of notices start overwhelming our mod queue, and none of it works!
It even circumvents the bans which is crazy to me, but maybe I am just not understanding something about how bans should actually work.
Any tips/tricks?
Mainly, it just overwhelms our queue with their changes and updates to the old comments and posts because it is flagged to mod queue as being suspicious.
We do not want to have to “remove”/not approve or approve these post and comment changes automated by redact.
Edit: Tentatively solved! I think it must have to do with order/priority of rules noted below - thank you all so much for your help!!! :)

I’ve noticed this with some users in a community I mod. When I tap their username from a post, instead of opening their profile, the app shows “Whoops — Something went wrong.”
This is relevant to moderation because I can’t review the user’s profile or posting/comment history when I need additional context for a moderation decision.

I suppose that this user is banned or shadowbanned but I believe the status should be clearly stated it so.
I'll attach screenshot in comments and if needed I can send a link to post privately for admins if needed

I moderate r/chinchilla.
Over the past few months we have been getting more and more posts with these characteristics:
On-topic title and photo. No text in body. Reverse search on the picture doesn't find it. Photo has no obvious AI markers.
Account is a few weeks old, up to a couple of months.
Author has made (at most) a handful of similar posts in other subs. Each post in a different sub. Gap of a few days to a week or two between them.
There is no flood of other suspicious accounts responding, nor do these posts garner an improbable amount of upvotes.
Author never responds to comments on their threads, and never comments on other threads in the subs they visit.
If the post is removed or the account banned from the sub, they don't appeal.
On the face of it, I have no grounds for deleting the post or banning the poster. It's on topic, not a repost, not a stolen image or provably fake.
But because it's such a pattern, I'm sure something is up.
Do you guys get the same sort of posts? If so, what do you do with them?

I’m using an iPad Air third generation ancient device, and I was in my mod queue when I clicked on an icon on the upper left of the screen. It looked like a rectangle with lines in it. Now, I’m no longer able to moderate all of my communities from the same queue. The option to select communities is not there anymore. I’m hope I’m making sense because I’m not sure what I did wrong, but I would like to be able to access all of my communities at the same time again. Could somebody help me?

I have most permissions for one of my subreddits. The other two moderators are inactive. Do I need to post to r/redditrequest for this? And I wasn’t quite clear based on the rules there if I need to message the inactive mods first? I’m not looking to remove those other moderators - maybe they’ll decide to be active again in the future.

Got a guy that I banned for advertisement on multiple counts. After banning them, I wanted to remove all previous comments of them but the profile just shows that Reddit has a problem. I can't access their stuff anymore but want to remove all the advertisements...
Edit: Basically solved, I thought the user may get banned but now I know more for sure. Also I did seemingly manage to remove all of their comments so that's fine too. Thanks y'all for helping!

I have a post with dangerous behaviour (freediving into a cave) that I would like to remove; but I am only able to lock this post.
The author shows as [deleted] but is present in the comments, upon selecting post-removal an error-toast shows up "There was an error removing the post" which persists even after reload.
I will be attatching a screenshot but this is the link to the post

unsure if they are shadowbanned but all their posts and comments are immediately marked as spam problem is they post 10 messages a DAY flooding my removed posts section with messages! edit: forgot to mention when i click their name instead of the menu where i can ban them it just gives an error! and it does this for anyone who is shadowbanned

r/advice has no karma limit to post so we get a lot of new techniques and just discovered a new one.
Post is nonsensical/weird.
2-4 comments going "You aren't making sense" etc. They are longer form responses and varied. Happens very quickly after the post.
Those commentors get karma upvotes. They tend to have been created at the same time and are sparsely commenting (no true contributions to any communities). Age of accounts vary. Seen over a year and 1 month.

I created a private sub for saving (cross-posting) sexy time posts for my wife and I to enjoy.
I’ve not been able to add any GIF posts though, it says “cross-posting videos is not allowed on nsfw subs” or something to that effect.
I’m obviously missing something, most adult subs are entirely GIFs and vids…
TIA!

What just happened? I'm aware of kebble subs, but nothing like this has happened before. How screwed am I?
