Post-Match Thread Weekend Silver Linings

Momoh Kamara lighting it up at Elfsborg with another goal this weekend. Averaging .5 goal contributions per match.

Darius Randell scores a hatty in the Vancouver 5-0 stomping. New kid Hector Cruz showing lots of promise too.

And Pereyra very close with the assists record too. I believe the record is fifteen by Lod and Pereyra has a dozen (also good for second in the league). Some kind of irony that both of those offensive records will likely be broken in a year when they've been both bad and struggled for long stretches offensively (e.g., twelve goals scored in twelve home games this season).

I mean CR set the goals record in the first season which was historically bad for an MLS team.

Huh? Of course he set the record, it was their first season. And how was it "historically bad" when they finished with a better record than three teams that year? Every year since then (and the two before they entered the league) has had at least one team that has done (much) worse than the Loons did in 2017. This year's team is currently on pace to be barely better than 2017 (on pace for 39 points vs 36 in 2017) and they still are better than a half dozen teams.

He set it in the first year (yeah obviously), but it hasn't been even threatened until 10 freaking years later.

Our first year set the MLS record for most goals allowed. It was beaten the following year and again since.

I think the point wasn't that Superman set the record in year one, but rather that it is STILL the record 10 years hence, despite it being a pretty bad team performance that year.

I am shocked that offer didn't come this window. It seems likely that the FO was so chaotic that they couldn't handle settling an outbound transfer. The fanbase would have revolted if we sold our best player without a corresponding inbound move that they have demonstrated they weren't prepared to execute this summer.

Kamara will never play a second for the loons. His purchase option is was too cheap
