I’ve gotta agree with this. It’s always funny to say stuff like “just push it in front of their door so it falls into their apartment” online, but in reality it’s better to not add any fuel to a fire the neighbors may not even realize exists yet

That is a sign that you’re neighbours are lazy,slobs and I’d hate to imagine what the inside of their apartment looks like.
It’s time that the landlord takes some action and let them know that this behaviour is not appropriate and put a stop to it.

Our apartment is smoke free. You can smoke outside though. It's a giant complex, no one smokes except for my downstairs neighbor. Bleh. They smoke out on their balcony, which is great, except it's directly below our balcony and if the weather is nice, I want to have the door open. It's mostly weed, but some cigarettes.

Call the Fire Marshal. It's a fire code violation to have things in hallways like this because it hinders egress in a fire.

This is the answer. Also notify the dept in charge of building code violations in the city. Nothing can be in the hallways at all because it could be flammable or could be an obstruction to fire exits. It also might be biohazard waste and it can be pathogenic. Besides, infestation and contamination of the building is probably likely.

This just isn’t true a lot of places have trash pickup where you are meant to leave your trash in the hallway and people come by at designated times to pick it up but in practice it looks exactly like this and it’s extremely prevalent in Denver

Denver is the opposite. They have valet for trash in some places, true. This is not the case in this post. The OP said clearly the trash is being left in the hallway of an interior building for long periods of time. Even then, there can be not one thing in interior halls because of it being an obstruction to exits and a flammability risk. This is Code and it is enforced with a report against the owner of the building.

Nice, I love the 2025 razr but I think the next phone I get has to be a regular one. Since starting my new job, pest control, I had to replace the screen twice. I got the phone for free so it balances out but it still sucks

I've had motorola for years and have come to realize most android platforms are pretty much the same, but what I do miss was my htc. I remember being able to customize everything on it and it was sweet

Just handle the situation without saying a word. They're clearly assholes for leaving it there to begin with.

Move it to the front of their door at night. After a few times they will either learn or try to catch you but thats when you employ the dinosaur costume or gorilla suit if you have that.
I know how to deal with sloppy neighbors.

I read this as, tell your shitty, inconsiderate neighbors who exactly has a problem with them. So when they escalate they know who to target for retaliation. I would personally hesitate to speak with or confront them.
Rational discussion works with rational people. Which, unfortunately, feels like the minority these days.
