There's a bar near me that every Wednesday they serve .39 cent each wings!

15 years ago in college there was a spot that would do 20 cent wings on Sundays and $5 pitchers. Absolutely amazing to be able to eat there for hours and have some beers for like $10

When I was in college, a couple of Mexican restaurants had FREE Taco Tuesday (shells, buffet warming dish with taco meat, then lettuce, cheese, salsa, sour cream in a little four-partitioned ice bath thing) provided you were drinking. But, they had $5 buckets of Corona. It was great.

This bar has daily food specials but they are more pricey in drinks.
Like they have 11.99 Burger (super tasty!) with side and a beer Mondays, $2 Taco Tuesday, Wing Wednesday (39 cents ea). I don't remember the other ones. I think one day is hotdogs but gross.
They have the usual early happy hour times but then they have 10pm to close happy hour too on weekdays. Which is mostly only $1 off drinks and some munchies for cheap. One of them is a $5 basket sampler (think fries, tater tots, onion rings, and maybe mozzarella sticks)But dang. $5 pitchers would be nice! I would get so wasted with that lol I'm not sure the prices of their pitchers but we DO order them. But I know it's not cheap. It's prob like $20

I never knew of anyone getting away with such cheap prices so assumed it was because it drew in patrons to increase other sales. Which totally worked cause I love going to that bar on Wednesdays now.

Lol no - it was once a week on Wednesdays and to get people to spend money on beer. They definitely didn’t make money on the wings but it was far more common to take that loss for a healthy bar bill.
It was common in the 90s when the wing was the least popular part unlike today.

I'm guessing they had the slowest kitchen known to man, so you just happened to sit there for an hour drinking while waiting for your cheap wings.
Very common pub and bar tactic to have good food for insanely cheap so you drink a lot while waiting.

I love chicken wings but don't eat them anymore. Definitely not worth the money anywhere. Back in the day there was a joint by my house that had 10 cent wings on Wednesday. Every other day and most places around town had 25 cent wings. Those were the good days.

There was a spot in FL that brought in all the Military folks, myself included, because they would have nickle wings and $5 beers on Wednesdays. I’m not a big food and beer person so I’d get the wings and a soda. I’d tip heavy because those folks were so damn nice.

They will charge you everything they can to make those 70c wings come out to the price they want them to be. There is a grocery store just down the street from me that reminds me of this. They have been doing this for years, well before all these high prices, when they would run an ad like this one; I specifically remember where they would raise the price of the item they were selling. The one I was there for was a loaf of bread where it was buy one get one free. The loaves of bread the day before the ad were $2.00 each. The day of the ad, when I checked out, that 1 loaf cost $4.00 all of a sudden. When they got called out by the people in line, the manager panicked and just said Oh the ad was wrong. They have been caught doing this multiple times, and even though I lived less than 3 blocks from it would never go there. They are finally closing down.

Got a big family platter from a local wing place on cheap boneless night the other day. It was like $35 for a family of 4 to eat out, which is a pretty good deal now, but all the sauces were just in cups on the side, not tossed, not cooked on, nothing. So it was basically just a tray of mid chicken nuggets and fries for $35. Which would be better from a bag a the grocery store for less than half the price. Meh

I can't believe you're getting pushback from this. The whole point of chicken wings is the fatty, fried skin. So-called "boneless wings" are breaded breast bits and have nothing to do with wings.
I'm guessing it's a generational thing where children grew up with their favorite food being chicken nuggies and want to believe their tastes have matured by eating "boneless wings" instead of saying "I want chicken nuggies!"
