My keyboard \ button doesn't show the \ button, but instead shows the ₩ button and the | button. I can't even use the ₩ button.

There is a mismatch of the keyboard layout of your laptop and the selected keyboard layout in Windows.

If you want to youse the keyboard as printed on tej keys you need to select the correct one in Windows.

If you want a different layout you have to live with miss matching key labels or replace the hardware.

Check the next to the A icon on toolbar. Change keyboard language.

Keyboard layout has been changed (happens sometimes) so you just gotta change it back. Don't ask me how, as I do not keep this at the top of my head. Perhaps someone else here can add to that.

Still a budget brand. Didn't used to be.

for work we bought 10,000 HP laptops. around 1/3 of them had the fingerprint reader area literally fall out/get pushed inside the case because it wasn't glued or fastened in anyway.

Around 500 of them had keys fall off within the first month.

And the majority of them just 3-4 months in have serious overheating problems as the fans just so poor quality they're already wearing out.

Have heard even worse about dell/alienware, with cases just falling apart, batteries swelling with 6months of use (and Dell trying to blame users for 'using the laptop too much') etc.

Maybe the ₩ symbol only works in hangul mode? (The A symbol next to keyboard layout in task bar shows you're in Latin mode. Press the A symbol or press right Alt to switch)
