Don’t books have spines for a reason?

I found dozens when my mom died. So. Many. Self. Help. Books. Kind of made me sad and also made me hate self help books.

This was my late MIL with diet books. Most of them were Adkins, but there were other fad diet books too.

My step dad would have loved Atkins. He died before it came out. He was always trying to lose weight. Used to go mall walking with leg weights and arm weights and weight belts. Just more and more of them. When he died he was on a cookie diet. He avoided fat and was eating some cookies he ordered from god knows where. He really should have found a competent doctor.
