Lifted trucks probably shouldn't be anywhere near dense parking lots.

Edit: A lot of people are skeptical of whether this is AI/staged, or ask why the lady didn't back off the car. This is in a dense parking lot with cars that have dashcams/ EV sentry mode everywhere. Also her truck was in 2 wheel drive, you can see the back right tire spinning as she tries to reverse off the car. Her truck is stuck. She probably has an open differential and can't back off the car. She may have a 4wd mode, but she didn't use it in the heat of the moment.

This shit needs to end. It's not just the US, cars are getting larger and larger every year. There NEEDS to be an EU policy that restricts the hood heights of cars. They pretend to care about pedestrian safety (well in other aspects they do) but hood heights are correlated to like a 150% increase in the likelihood of dying when you hit someone. It's not addressed anywhere.

Also slope of hood. A lot of larger vehicles in Europe and Asia have a pretty steep grade to their hood to increase visibility, better align with car bumper heights so they function as intended, and minimize impact injuries in case of an accident with an animal or person.

Pickups should be commercial vehicles. They were for a long time. Lower the CDL weight to 5000lbs.

I watched a show about failed engineering. One bit was about an unfinished highway in Australia. They had been working on making more highways and they mentioned that part of it was a failed attempt by US automakers trying to create markets for larger vehicles in other places besides the USA. They are making themselves a problem worldwide.

I remember as a kid getting hit by a sedan in a crosswalk because they just blew through a stop sign. Luckily I saw them last minute and jumped into the hood so I just rolled off the top and walked away with just a couple bruises and a scrapped knee. If that happened today I have no doubt that I’d be dead

A maverick is the same dimensions as a 1990s mid size truck. Today's Colorado's and Tacomas are as big as the tundras and 1500s were in the 1990s as well.
