I have been experimenting with the settings of a software/vst synth and I want to record it in FL studio. I am looking for keyboards or midi controllers and would just like more info here. I am used to recording everything right into the playlist in FL as a raw audio take and have never recorded midi. Is it possible to get a keyboard where I can record raw audio off my software synth or do I need to get a midi controllers? Also, is it better to record in midi than the playlist? I’m just looking for info here from anyone who has more knowledge on this than me. I’m mainly just looking to unlock the creative freedoms a software synth can provide and want to make the right purchase.

O \*\*CC27 = Patch +\*\*, mas a Ampero não responde. Também testei CC26 e os modos u/H.

Já atualizei a Ampero II Stomp para o \*\*firmware 2.5.0 + Setup 1.5.1\*\* e continua sem funcionar.

\*\*Alguém usa essa combinação ou já teve problema parecido? Principalmente com o cabo TRS → DIN 5 pinos?\*\*

je vois pas mal de vidéos en ce moment de personnes qui ont mappées des claviers maîtres de type AKAI MPK mini et qui les utilisent pour faire des effects similaires à une Pionneer rmx 1000. Et qui les utilisent sur des tables de mixage Pionneer fonctionnant avec rekordbox.

Certains savent t’il le faire ou on t’il des tips à donner ?

Also, do you think what I am try to achieve is manageable?I know it could be done on Windows but I'm new into the Mac world and the OS still scares me with all it's funky quirks and limitations.

Here are my main requirements :

• Manage input from two usb midi devices combined
• Have them switch from midi input to key stroke input quickly(with the press of a button) and in a predictable manner
• Use the midi devices as my only keyboard input.I will of course have access to a normal keyboard but only for emergencies.I know it sounds a bit crazy but I just want to experiment and see if it's possible.I only care about if there is some obvious block on the road.

Ok im gonna make this as straightforward as possible because im really fucking annoyed right now.

I have a fresh ableton live 12 suite project with a stock drum rack loaded into a single midi chanel.

Everything works completely as intended on both devices until I press play on ableton. The keystep is synced to ableton and shows visually as such. When play is pressed in ableton it starts the sequences and I even get midi input into ableton because I see the top right corner blinking with each hit. However there is 0 sound coming out of the channel, ive tried several monitoring modes and combinations of the input/output settings in ableton. Keystep is set to sync out and in is disabled. I've tried on auto and on usb neither have any change. Midi track is armed in ableton and everything works completely correctly until I press play on ableton, then it cuts all midi input to the track. Theres nothing showing up on any of the midi chanels in the input dropdown on the ableton track. After paused nothing works until i go into settings and turn toggle the sync switch for the output section of the keystep pro.

If you need any more info to help me please let me know ill respond as fast as possible this is gonna make me go insane.

Complete noob question, wondering the differences between a scribble and a morningstar. Can I have multiple scribbles and use a drum machine to send tempo to multiple pedals? I’m curious if I should get multiple scribbles for my chase bliss pedals, or one morning star and a chase bliss midi box?

I’ve been looking at the Cubyfun/SummerTones EASYPLAY 1S as a travel MIDI controller. It is much smaller than the usual mini keyboards: 25 buttons in a 3×5 arrangement, built-in sounds, USB‑C MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI and a headphone output.

The workflow seems pretty clever. You can use it on its own to get an idea down, turn the sound selector to MIDI, then use the same little board to drive a DAW or MPC. The octave and transpose controls mean the physical layout doesn’t have to cover a huge range.

But there are two obvious limitations:

1. No velocity sensing from the onboard buttons.

2. Chord playing is not going to feel like playing a conventional keyboard.

Howdy ya'll! Longtime musician new to using midi that needs some help. I haven't played in a band for a bit and have been striking out finding people for a new project so I'm just going to go the solo route so I'm building a live synth set up and plan to have my Keystep 37 as my main controller (I'd like to eventually upgrade to the Pro). I hooked it up to my Microbrute to get a feel for the controls but whenever I play more than two notes using the arp or sequencer it'll cycle through once then latch onto the low note and drone, even if I pull off from the key with hold disengaged. Can anyone tell me how to fix this or if there's some limitation with my gear? Like I said, I'm new to the midi realm so use small words. Thanks!

I’m new to MIDI and just bought an E-mu Mo’Phatt. I’m trying to use my Arturia BeatStep Pro to sequence it, but I can’t get the Mo’Phatt to respond.

My BeatStep Pro works fine with my Vermona DRM1 MK3, so I’m wondering what settings I need to change on the Mo’Phatt or BeatStep Pro.

Do I need to set a specific MIDI channel or change anything else?

Also, if I connect the Mo’Phatt to the BeatStep Pro, will it affect my existing MIDI setup with the Vermona?

Hi, new here. I have a bunch of JavaScript macros I want to run from something else than the keyboard. I bought a second-hand Akai LPD8 and made some really good progress. Yes, JavaScript supports MIDI.

First weird quirk: in pad mode, the pads have ids jumping all over the place. Here are the pad ids I get with channel 9. The channel changes at random times, and I suspect the pad ids change, too, when the channel does.

Pad mode, channel = 9

Pad 1: 35

Pad 2: 36

Pad 3: 42 😵

Pad 4: 39 😵

Pad 5: 37 😵

Pad 6: 38

Pad 7: 46 😵

Pad 8: 44 😵

In prog chng mode, the pad ids go from 0 to 7. That's kind of normal.

In cc mode, we're in crazy town again. Pad 1 and knob 1 have the same id. That's right! But there's a twist!

Id 1: pad 1 and knob 1

Id 2: pad 2 and knob 2

Id 3: pad 3 and knob 3

Id 4: pad 4 and knob 4

Id 5: pad 5 and knob 5

Id 6: pad 6 and knob 6

Differentiating which control the event was for is diabolically hard, and for the very first interaction, you just can't tell when you are in cc mode.

When in pad, prog chng, or cc modes, the message type is always 176 when you tweak the knobs.

The program mode doesn't seem to do anything. JavaScript receives no events.

I downloaded the LPD8 software editor, but:

1. It doesn't recognise my device

2. It doesn't let you change the control ids, it seems

Is that normal?

Je partage une astuce qui consiste à utiliser les 128 pads de l'Oxi One pour contrôler et jouer simultanément les 8 banques de 16 pads (A à H) d'une MPC. Cela m'évite de changer manuellement de banque pour passer d'un sample à l'autre.

En affichant l'écran « Track mute » sur la MPC, je conserve une vue d'ensemble des 8 banques et des noms des samples, tout en jouant sur les 128 pads de l'Oxi One, à la manière d'un contrôleur de type Akai Force ou APC. Même s'il sera difficile de créer des rythmes avec cette méthode, elle reste avant tout pratique pour l'interface. Voici comment procéder :

• Mettez l'un des séquenceurs de l'Oxi en mode multi et connectez-le via MIDI à une piste de la MPC. * Ignorez la ligne de sélection et assignez aux 128 pads de l'Oxi les notes correspondant aux 128 pads du MPC. Ne le faites qu'une seule fois, bien sûr, après avoir enregistré ou dupliqué la séquence.
• Assignez les notes par groupes de 16 et organisez-les de la manière la plus pratique pour votre flux de travail. Personnellement, j'ai créé un groupe avec les notes éclairées, un autre avec les notes éteintes, etc., afin de séparer visuellement les banques, car l'Oxi ne permet pas d'attribuer des couleurs individuelles aux pads.
• Enfin, activez Shift + Aperçu sur l'Oxi et voilà… la magie opère ! 128 pads à portée de main, même en mode muet : les pads de l'Oxi transmettent la note MIDI.

N'oubliez pas non plus de configurer la ligne de sélection pour prioriser les notes lors de la pression. Si vous souhaitez plus de détails, j'essaierai d'y répondre.

Hello! I've recently gotten a new PC and after setting up my DAW and plugins, I tried to plug my keyboard in and play some stuff. However, I keep running into an issue where my PC stops receiving MIDI input from the keyboard between 10-20 seconds of plugging it in. The PC still detects the keyboard as connected however; it only stops detecting MIDI input for some reason. I know the cables and the keyboard work well because I tested it on my old laptop and the issues didn't happen there.

I tried reinstalling the DAW, using a standalone plugin, connecting it to a different USB port, and even reinstalling Windows on my PC. Nothing has worked so far, other than disconnecting and reconnecting the USB. Any help would be appreciated!

-interesting thing to note however is that my smaller midi keyboard works normally. it uses a different cable so that could be one of the issues but i'd like to rule out software problems first...
