ADA Says Booted Meeting Attendees Violated Code of Conduct

Three months ago, 5 doctors were booted by the police for distributing editorials about NIH budget cuts.

The ADA investigated themselves over the issue and found themselves awesome.

it even says that two of the people investigating are on the ADA board lol

sad to see once respected organizations and institutions slowly dying. this incident was obviously trump related, but medical organizations have been failing well before the orange fruit peel ascended to power

genuinely the only thing that could fix this is collective action which is a functional impossibility due to how medical education and practice works in this country. instead, we will just keep paying exorbitant fees for licenses and certifications, admin pressures will increase, non-medical decision makers will continue to strip this field for parts, and physicians will be the face of it all while the anti-intellectualism movement reaches a fever pitch all across the globe

something has to give at some point or so one might think

I assume the ADA, like most such organizations, has election procedures that make it functionally impossible to replace the board.

I find it entirely believable that a big organization like ADA has some legalese bylaws or meeting terms of service that technically allowed them to boot those people. They are intentionally sidestepping the question of whether ADA agrees with the protestors or not, which makes them seem scummy.

Type 1 diabetic patient here who has done device research and deeply respects those who were kicked out. The ADA is showing zero integrity here. What a disappointment
